Description

We are seeking a finance leader to oversee FP&A and drive FP&A and the broader financial strategy of our organization. In this role, you will shape the company’s approach to resource allocation and provide key insights to leadership on opportunities to drive value and help empower our Vikings to achieve success.

This role requires an experienced finance leader who can balance strategic vision with operational precision, seamlessly interface with cross-functional teams, and contribute to our growth ambitions.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Budgeting & Forecasting Leadership: Drive annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives, in collaboration with our Senior Director of Accounting.
  • Tactical Insights: Collaborate with Product and Data teams to integrate tactical opportunities and challenges into forecasts.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish systems for tracking progress against forecasts and identifying areas requiring intervention, in collaboration with our Senior Director of Accounting.

Strategic Resource Allocation

  • Investment Evaluation: Assess the financial implications of large-scale strategic initiatives, such as significant game development projects or new product launches, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Cross-Portfolio Optimization: Analyze how shared resources are allocated and billed across sister companies to maximize efficiencies, improve performance, and align financial outcomes with strategic priorities, in collaboration with our Senior Director of Accounting.

Board & Executive Engagement

  • Board Reporting: Serve as the key financial liaison to the board, delivering concise, data-driven updates on company performance, strategic initiatives, and opportunities.
  • Strategic Presentations: Develop clear, compelling narratives that tie financial insights to broader business goals, supporting executive decision-making.

Operational Efficiency

  • KPI Frameworks: Design and monitor metrics that provide actionable insights into financial performance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Process & Systems Improvement: Support our VP-Operations and Senior Director of Accounting in evaluating existing systems.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising growth objectives, balancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight: Support our Senior Director of Accounting in maintaining financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Strategic Growth & M&A

  • Buy-Side Opportunities: Opportunistically evaluate acquisitions of legacy live operations game companies, providing financial and strategic analysis to support decision-making.
  • Business Case Development: Build and present cases for strategic investments, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and ROI expectations.
Requirements
  • FP&A Experience: 6+ YOE in finance, in a FP&A, operational finance, and strategic financial capacity
  • Industry Experience: 3+ YOE in a software company
  • Cross-Org Influence: 1+ YOE in a role regularly interfacing with Product and Data teams
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bonus: Experience reporting into a board or CEO
  • Bonus: Experience as the sole finance resource in an organization
  • Bonus: Experience modeling LTV cohorts at a consumer company
  • Bonus: Experience modeling ROAS at a consumer company
  • Bonus: Exposure to mid-market and sub-scale M&A
  • Bonus: Experience with no-code financial modeling tools (e.g. Runway)
