The Opportunity

Medavie is seeking an enterprise-minded leader to shape and advance our Data, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (DAA) agenda. Reporting to the EVP of the Enterprise Transformation Office, you will set strategic direction, establish the governance model for enterprise DAA decisions, and help ensure investments translate into measurable business outcomes.

In this leadership role, you will work across Business Lines, Technology, Risk, Privacy, Legal and executive leadership to create a consistent approach for identifying, prioritizing, governing and measuring DAA opportunities. You will bring clarity to decision rights, forums, escalation pathways, prioritization criteria and strategic guardrails, while building alignment around a practical, scalable and responsible enterprise direction.

Success in this role requires strategic thinking, sound judgment and the ability to influence across a complex organization. You will connect enterprise ambition to execution, strengthen value-based decision-making and foster a culture of responsible innovation, transparency and accountability.

What You Will Do

  • Define, maintain and execute Medavie’s enterprise DAA strategy and multi-year roadmap in collaboration with IT, translating strategic objectives into clear priorities, target outcomes, capability requirements and sequencing considerations.

  • Assess emerging technologies, vendor developments, regulatory changes and external practices, and translate them into strategic opportunities or roadmap implications.

  • Establish strategic guardrails to assess DAA opportunities based on enterprise alignment, business value and organizational readiness.

  • Align the DAA portfolio and foundational investments to enterprise ambition, partnering with portfolio intake and key stakeholders to prioritize initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain the enterprise DAA program governance operating model, including decision rights, governance forums, executive decision-making cadences and escalation pathways.

  • Facilitate enterprise governance forums that review DAA priorities, investment choices, strategic risks, dependencies and trade-offs.

  • Embed applicable data and AI requirements into governance processes so initiatives are assessed consistently before investment and prioritization decisions are made.

  • Define governance reporting that provides decision-makers with visibility into strategic alignment, portfolio direction, material risks, key dependencies and value realization.

  • Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, IT teams and support functions to drive alignment around DAA strategy and governance expectations.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and enterprise subject matter expert on DAA strategy, governance model design, value realization and operating model practices.

  • Drive adoption of governance, portfolio management disciplines and value-based decision-making across the organization.

  • Establish meaningful metrics and key performance indicators to monitor strategy execution, portfolio alignment and governance effectiveness, using insights to continuously improve enterprise practices.

What You Need to Succeed

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, enterprise transformation or a related field.

  • Experience establishing operating models, governance models and strategic planning cadences within data, analytics, AI or technology environments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives across multiple business functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executive and board-level stakeholders, influence decisions and build alignment across senior leadership.

  • Strong strategic thinking and synthesis skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights and executive-ready communications.

  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise AI and data literacy programs or capability-building strategies that increase adoption of data-driven and AI-enabled practices.

  • Strong understanding of AI literacy requirements, responsible AI principles and approaches for building organizational awareness and competency across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Deep understanding of DAA program governance principles, operating model design and leading practices within data, analytics and AI environments.

  • Ability to lead through influence and build alignment across functions.

  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations and AI governance and model risk considerations.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities, competing demands and a high degree of ambiguity.
