About the Team
The Workday Data Platform Engineering Organization in Business Technology takes pride in enabling data driven business outcomes to mobilize Workday’s growth through trusted data excellence, innovation and architecture thought leadership. The team's key objective is to empower data engineering, analytics engineering, data scientists, and various business partners by building scalable data platforms, tooling/reusable frameworks, data quality and anomaly detection framework to fuel potential, reducing decision latency using self-service architecture in cloud environments.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in crafting, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring flawless software delivery and efficient system performance.
You will be a catalyst to our organization's technology infrastructure. You will apply your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and software development standard processes to empower our development teams and streamline our software delivery processes.
Responsibilities:

Build and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS or GCP, aligning with industry and organizational goals.

Craft and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring rapid and reliable software releases.

Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to run infrastructure provisioning and configuration.

Champion automation initiatives, finding opportunities to automate manual tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce operational overhead.

Monitor system health, performance, and security, using monitoring tools and implementing proactive alerting mechanisms to detect and address issues promptly.

Collaborate with development teams to understand their requirements, provide mentorship on infrastructure and deployment standard processes, and ensure integration of applications with the cloud environment.

Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, tools, and trends, evaluating and recommending solutions to improve the organization's technological capabilities.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
-
5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles coupled with 4+ years of experience working with Cloud Operations teams (DevOps, FinOps, MLOps)

4+ years experience in crafting and handling cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, demonstrating a deep understanding of cloud services, architecture patterns, and security
-
4+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef) for automation and infrastructure management.
Other Qualifications:
-
Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery.

Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, enabling automated provisioning and management of cloud resources. Terraform is preferred.

Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration platforms for scalable and efficient application deployment.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to solve complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work optimally with multi-functional teams, including development and QA
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
