Job Description

In the role as Design Manager, Ductbank Package, you will be responsible for managing the complex design coordination required for the Ductbank Package. This role is accountable for the technical development, integration, and coordination of underground utility infrastructure, ensuring that civil, electrical, and telecom design inputs are fully aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design development for the Ductbank Package, coordinating inputs from civil, electrical, and telecom teams.
  • Manage complex stakeholder interfaces to ensure underground utility routes do not clash with existing or future assets.
  • Oversee the production of design-grade models and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable construction codes and standards.
  • Provide technical expertise in the relocation and coordination of both wet and dry services.
  • Manage package-level design coordination across all design phases, from planning through detailed design and issue for construction.
  • Lead technical reviews and design coordination sessions with project stakeholders to resolve conflicts.
  • Ensure that design submissions are complete, coordinated, technically robust, and aligned with program controls.
  • Support constructability reviews, interface management, and value engineering where required.
  • Track technical risks, unresolved clashes, and design dependencies.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Technical Coordinator to ensure an integrated package delivery approach.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of engineering design experience, with a focus on civil utilities or major infrastructure.
  • Expertise in BIM/Civil 3D workflows for complex underground coordination.
  • Experience with progressive design-build delivery models.
  • Experience in live or highly constrained operational environments is preferred.
