Job Summary
As a Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the demand plans that drive business decisions across IPEX's Canadian operations. Combining forecasting expertise, business insight, and market intelligence, you will help optimize service levels, inventory performance, and supply chain responsiveness.
Working closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Product Management, and other business stakeholders, you will lead consensus forecasting efforts, challenge assumptions, evaluate risks and opportunities, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence planning strategies, contribute to the continued evolution of SAP IBP, and help advance demand planning capabilities that support business growth and operational excellence across IPEX.
Principal Responsibilities
- Shape and own demand forecasts by combining statistical analysis, market intelligence, customer trends, and commercial insights to support business growth and operational performance.
- Lead the consensus forecasting process by partnering with Sales and business stakeholders to validate assumptions, challenge forecasts, and drive accountability and commitment to agreed-upon demand plans.
- Identify emerging demand trends, risks, and opportunities through ongoing performance analysis, using insights to strengthen forecast accuracy and support better business decisions.
- Translate complex data into meaningful insights, reports, and recommendations that influence planning priorities and improve organizational visibility.
- Support product launches, promotions, projects, and product lifecycle changes by ensuring demand plans accurately reflect evolving market conditions.
- Contribute to the advancement of IPEX's planning capabilities through forecasting enhancements, SAP IBP adoption, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain planning, or a related analytical role, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or consumer products environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Analytics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders to build consensus, challenge assumptions, drive accountability, and influence business decisions.
- Proven experience developing demand forecasts, applying forecasting methodologies, and supporting S&OP/IBP processes.
- Strong communication, influencing, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, investigate variances, and translate data into actionable business insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis, with the ability to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable business insights.
- Experience working with ERP and demand planning platforms such as SAP IBP, SAP APO, or similar planning systems.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, or other reporting and data visualization tools is considered an asset.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- APICS (CPIM, CSCP) or similar professional certifications are considered an asset.
The compensation for this position is between $81,300 - $101,600 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
