What we are doing is extremely hard, the classic moon shot. Few people in their life will be able to be a part of something like this, whereif we are successful, the technologies we develop will solve some of the world’s most challenging problems and literally change the world. And that is something to be excited about!

Your role and responsibilities:

As part of the newly formed cybersecurity team you will bridge the gap between our high-level cybersecurity strategy and daily technical operations. You will work at the intersection of our IT infrastructure and our core R&D teams to ensure our intellectual property is protected without slowing down innovation. This is a "wear-many-hats" role perfect for a security-minded builder who enjoys working across the entire stack—from hardening infrastructure and automating workflows to developing internal tools that keep our innovation secure.

  • Act as the initial responder for all cybersecurity incidents
  • Generate detailed incident reports for all cybersecurity and operational security incidents and follow up on the action items
  • Conduct awareness sessions to educate all Xanadu employees on cybersecurity policies
  • Conduct application security audits and implement necessary controls
  • Develop scripts (across all 3 major OS) to automate the patching of reported CVEs without disrupting user workflows
  • Collaborate closely with various internal teams to refresh existing cybersecurity policies and establish new ones
  • Participate in the creation and validation of Disaster Recovery procedures by running tabletop and DR exercises
  • Collaborate with the IT team to research and evaluate new applications or solutions to enhance Xanadu’s cybersecurity posture

Required qualifications and experience:

  • BSc. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT role
  • Experience drafting policies relevant to cybersecurity frameworks
  • Hands-on experience writing scripts in Linux or Python
  • Experience with one of the major cloud providers, AWS preferred
  • Security mindset, detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure/high-paced environment
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and effectively handle frequent context-switching
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in security operations, incident response, vulnerability assessments, and network architecture design
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Powershell
  • Has worked in a startup environment and understands the importance of wearing multiple hats
  • Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines for automation
This is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 80,000 - 100,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
