About Tofu

How do you distinguish between real and fake in an AI world?
This question has crippled the recruiting industry overnight. Tofu is building one of the most important companies of our time and the layer to fix it.

AI has made it easier than ever to fake credentials, impersonate real people, and apply to jobs at scale using synthetic identities. More than 60% of remote applicants are fake, there were 75M detected deepfakes last year, and the number of state-sponsored groups hired by Fortune 500s grew 220%.

The hiring funnel has become the front door to the enterprise, and AI has cracked it wide open. It’s a $96 billion problem that needs to be solved.

We’re changing that.

Tofu is building a new standard for security in hiring.

And we just raised $5M from Slow Ventures and Founder Collective to step on the gas.

If you want to help build the trust layer for the internet and redefine how identity works in the AI era, we’d love to talk.

About the Role
We’re hiring a Customer and Product Lead to work at the intersection of our customers and our product. You’ll own our customer journey after the sale: getting them live fast, keeping them engaged, and expanding their usage over time. Then you’ll take what you learn into engineering and help decide what we build next.

You’ll work directly with our Founder & CEO to set the customer and product strategy that gets us to $10M in ARR. You’ll be a force multiplier across the business, working closely with engineering, and sales.

If you want to work across customers, product, and engineering, and learn more in a year than you would in five at a big company, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the customer journey after the sale: lead onboarding, run QBRs, own account health and reduce churn.
  • Own renewals and expansion. You carry net revenue retention.
  • Be the voice of the customer in product. Sit in on planning with engineering and bring the data on what customers need, what they’ll pay for and what’s costing us deals.
  • Turn customer pain into roadmap. Write the problem up, size it, prioritize it with engineering and see it through to launch.
  • Run betas and launches with our best accounts. Measure whether what we shipped actually got used.
  • Own the numbers. Retention, usage, account health, feature adoption. If we can’t measure it, set it up so we can.
  • Step in wherever the team needs support and help build out the company.

Who You Are
  • Background in consulting, investment banking or similar.
  • You’ve worked at a startup.
  • You were part of a team that built a SaaS product generating millions in revenue.
  • Good with numbers, analytical, somewhat technical. You can pull your own data.
  • You have strong product instincts and can tell a real problem from a loud one.
  • You want to talk to customers a lot.
  • You don’t need to be told what to do.
  • Toronto-based.
  • Bonus: you’ve started a company before, or built a product or side project with real scale or revenue.

Why Tofu and this Role

You’ll help build the trust layer for the internet, one of the defining problems of the AI era, and build a generational company.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • 3 weeks of vacation
  • New laptop and gear to do your best work
  • Tofu swag your friends will want to steal
