At CI, we see a great place to work as one that is a safe place for everyone to have a voice, where people are empowered to take ownership over meaningful work, where there is an opportunity to grow through stretching themselves, where they can work on innovative products and projects, and where employees are supported and engaged in doing so.

As a Corporate Insurance Specialist, you will work directly with CI Wealth advisors, Assante advisors, and assigned client opportunities to identify insurance needs, provide insurance advice, and complete insurance business from discovery through application, placement, and delivery.
The role provides access to an established base of CI-owned clients and advisor relationships, with opportunities arising through existing wealth relationships, advisor referrals, and identified planning gaps. You will act as the dedicated insurance specialist within the advisor’s broader client relationship team, focusing on high-quality discovery, advice, conversion, and execution for clients who may have significant assets under management and more sophisticated protection, estate, business, and wealth-transfer needs.
By providing dedicated insurance expertise and capacity where insurance needs are not being addressed internally, the role helps complete the client’s broader financial plan, strengthen holistic planning, and increase internal insurance capture through practical sales and execution support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Insurance Discovery, Advice, and Sales

  • Work with CI Wealth advisors, Assante advisors, and assigned clients to identify insurance and planning needs.
  • Lead discovery-based insurance conversations with advisors and clients to assess protection, estate, business-owner, succession, liquidity, and wealth-transfer needs.
  • Develop and present insurance recommendations that align with the client’s broader financial and wealth plan.
  • Manage the full insurance sales process, including needs analysis, product selection, illustrations, applications, underwriting requirements, placement, and policy delivery.
  • Identify planning triggers including family protection needs, business-owner insurance, estate liquidity, policy reviews, term conversions, succession planning, and corporate insurance opportunities.
  • Participate in advisor and client meetings where insurance expertise is required.
  • Maintain momentum on active opportunities and address barriers that may delay applications, underwriting, placement, or delivery.

Advisor Partnership and Holistic Planning Support

  • Build productive working relationships with CI Wealth advisors, Assante advisors, branches, and regional teams.
  • Work as the insurance specialist within the advisor’s broader client team while respecting the advisor’s primary wealth relationship.
  • Help integrate insurance into broader wealth, estate, business-owner, and financial planning conversations where a planning gap, protection need, or insurance opportunity is identified.
  • Provide practical insurance expertise that helps advisors assess client needs and position insurance appropriately within the broader plan.
  • Keep advisors informed of case progress, next steps, insurance recommendations, and relevant client considerations.
  • Partner with Insurance Business Development & Enablement Specialists on advisor referrals, opportunity development, and case progression.

Pipeline Management and Case Execution

  • Manage assigned opportunities from initial discovery through application, placement, and delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of client opportunities, meetings, applications, issued cases, revenue, and follow-up requirements.
  • Coordinate illustrations, carrier requirements, underwriting information, applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Work closely with Operations on documentation, application processing, underwriting follow-up, placement requirements, and case workflow.
  • Engage carrier resources, within established workflows, for product, illustration, underwriting, and case support.
  • Escalate complex estate, corporate, tax, underwriting, or planning matters to Estate Planning and Advanced Planning Specialists.
  • Support effective handoffs across advisors, Operations, Estate Planning, carrier partners, and other internal stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Minimum 5 years of active life insurance sales and production experience across multiple insurance solution categories, with strong practical knowledge of Canadian life insurance, living benefits, business insurance, estate planning, succession planning, and wealth-transfer needs.
  • Active provincial life insurance licensing in Ontario. Licensing in additional provinces is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify insurance needs, provide suitable advice, and close new life insurance business.
  • Ability to conduct discovery-based, planning-oriented insurance conversations with advisors and clients.
  • Practical knowledge of needs analysis, product positioning, illustrations, underwriting fundamentals, carrier requirements, applications, and policy placement.
  • Preferred experience partnering with financial advisors and supporting business-owner, high-net-worth, corporate, or broader wealth-planning client needs.
  • Strong presentation, communication, sales, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to recognize complex planning needs and engage the appropriate specialist support.
  • Willingness to travel as required for advisor offices, client meetings, regional activity, and business-development needs.
