Are you an aspiring Communications Coordinator with a passion for storytelling and creating meaningful experiences for employees and Clients? Are you interested in supporting communications that help people better understand Sun Life’s purpose, priorities and impact? The Coordinator, Corporate Communications (14-month contract) plays a key supporting role across two portfolios: People & Culture and Client & Innovation (with a focus on Sustainability and Marketing). Working closely with Corporate Communications partners, you’ll help bring people‑focused initiatives, Client‑related stories and sustainability priorities to life through clear, engaging and consistent communications. In this contract role, you’ll support communications that shape how employees and external audiences experience Sun Life, helping people feel informed, connected and proud of the work we do.

We’re looking for a collaborative team player who is proactive, curious and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. The Coordinator reports to the Manager, Corporate Communications and works closely with People & Culture partners, Client & Innovation teams, and other communications colleagues across the organization.
What will you do?

  • Support internal/external communications by drafting and creating visual content, articles, emails, social media posts and other collateral for a variety of audiences and channels

  • Logistics and administrative support for large internal events including town halls

  • Review and set up emails and other internal messages for distribution to broad audiences

  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues on translation and digital publishing

  • Write, edit, proofread, and create graphics to support engaging communications

  • Conduct research for briefing documents and communication plans

  • Track metrics, build basic reports and look for trends in data and emerging tools (including AI) to help inform future communications

  • Collaborate with communications colleagues, marketing partners and subject‑matter experts to support integrated, consistent messaging

  • Help fuel engagement by supporting the delivery of clear, relevant and timely communications aligned to Sun Life’s Purpose

What do you need to succeed?

  • Degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a support position or equivalent role

  • Strong writing skills, with experience or interest in corporate, employee or brand communications

  • Experience creating visual and engaging content across multiple channels

  • Strong organizational skills and time-management skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Curiosity and interest in research, problem solving and analyzing data

  • Demonstrated experience developing new ideas and recommending creative solutions

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders

  • General knowledge of communications best practices across multiple channels, including how different audiences consume content

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team‑oriented mindset

What will be nice to have?

  • Experience in employee or internal communications

  • Experience in content creation for intranet, email or social platforms

  • Experience with Adobe Marketo Engage, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop

  • Exposure to human resources, marketing, sustainability or the financial services industry

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
