Job Summary

The Contract Specialist plays a pivotal role within the Product Strategy & Supplier Partnerships (PSSP) department at McKesson Canada. This position is essential for establishing frameworks and standards to streamline and optimize contract processes. The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing the contract repository, initiating negotiation preparations, and ensuring the efficient and effective execution of contracts. By maximizing value, managing risk, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards, this role drives significant value for both McKesson Canada and its Brand manufacturer partners.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage repository of manufacturer contracts and trigger negotiation preparation activities at the optimal time.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance with contract commitments and industry regulations.

  • Build appropriate guardrails to standardize and optimize contracts for efficiency and growth.

  • Analyze existing contracts and key terms to identify potential areas for revenue enhancement.

  • Represent manufacturer contracts and voice of customer in collaboration with operations team to inform projects and initiatives related to improving supply chain efficiency.

  • Continuously refine contract management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.

  • Support analysis to inform contract negotiations and development of negotiation strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, contract management, supply chain operations, or a related field, with a focus on standardization and process improvement.

Key Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of complex contractual terms, language, law, and conditions.
  • Deep understanding of B2B contract structures, vendor management.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactive and self-driven attitude; continuous improvement mindset.

  • Comfort with technology and leveraging AI / automation to drive efficiency in processes.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$71,400 - $119,000
