About the team:

The Technology Planning and Cooperation Department promotes strategic innovation across all of Huawei Canada. Working with fellow experts, the focus is researching new and upcoming areas of technology as well as strategic planning to help achieve long term vision of Huawei. This department offers a unique opportunity to leverage both technical and business skills.

About the job:

  • Proactively track the technological development trends in cutting-edge AI, Future Computing, DCN, Computing Hardware and Operating System. Provide insight reports on innovation trends, propose ideas and suggestions.

  • Track and analyze key achievements from top universities and papers published at top conferences and journals. Communicate and discuss with technical experts, and capture state of the art technologies and ideas.

  • Participate in academic and industrial conferences, closely track new technology trends, and keep an eye on early discovery of disruptive technologies.

  • Communicate with collaborating teams to promote innovations with substantive potential.

  • Organize seminars and workshops in related fields and maintain regular technical exchanges with academic and business partners.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Education background in Computer Science or related disciplines. Ph.D. degree is an asset.

  • Experience in research and development, innovation incubation in AI, Future Computing, DCN, Computing Hardware and Operating System related fields.

  • Keen insight and analytical ability.

  • Have a general vision or professional connections to resources in the areas described above in North American, including research institutes, universities, and companies is an asset.

  • Understand the operations of academic organizations and possess a working background in relevant academic organizations. A position within an academic organization is an asset.
