What you’ll be doing
The Risk Credit Integrity Oversight (RCIO) team within RACD, independently assesses compliance to credit policies and procedures across multiple channels, roles, and retail lending products for CIBC and Simplii as part of the 2nd Line of Defense, specifically as it pertains to lending due diligence and first party fraud, to ensure alignment with our bank’s risk appetite and protect our clients. As the Consultant, RCIO Risk Analytics, you will conduct data-driven analysis on the operational effectiveness of credit policies and procedures to derive insights and recommendations. You will lead initiatives from end-to-end and act as subject matter expert in utilizing data proactively to support our business teams with efficiencies, effectiveness, innovation, and decision making.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You’ll Succeed

Analytics – Conduct advanced analysis to support Quality Assurance group with analytics and reporting for their 2nd Line of Defense processes for all retail lending products. Develop risk indicators and identify populations for further review. Understand and interpret business requirements, evaluate complex data relationships, and deliver outputs that meet business expectations. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data and analytic results using well-developed quantitative methods.

Data Management – Work collaboratively with partners to augment/acquire internal and external data and tools. Design solutions to support the automation of processes and reporting. Manage large data sets and maintain databases such as Access, SAS, SQL. Develop strategies that ensure data accuracy, consistency, timely capture and standardization at the various levels across varying product groups.

Reporting - Perform data aggregation and develop and deliver dynamic and visually appealing reports and dashboards to outline issues and influence decisions. Interpret results, provide insights, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to processes and strategies.

Engagement and Communication - Frequently liaise with key partners and peers to understand data, determine requirements, provide expertise, and communicate insights and recommendations to various audiences. Prepare presentations that clearly and concisely communicate key findings and objectives. Contributes to the advancement of the team’s processes, efficiencies and best practices.

Project Management - Utilize project management skills and methods to plan and prioritize initiatives, manage timelines while being agile in delivery, understand scope, requirements, and constraints, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, and manage stakeholder expectations as well as ensure high quality work
Who You Are

You demonstrate experience. 2+ years' experience in data analytics roles in the banking industry. Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools such as SAS and SQL. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of retail lending data, systems, processes and procedures. Proficiency with Python, Tableau, Access Database a strong asset.
