Job Description:

The Marketing Consultant will contribute to the management and execution of wealth and holistic marketing strategies. You will be responsible for the creation of marketing programs and solutions that support the advice channel to drive deeper holistic relationships and sales results.

This role will also contribute to ensure the marketing assets and content are designed to help advisors effectively position their services and distinct value propositions within their communities. All program assets and content are designed to meet the needs of advisors throughout their various business stages, with a specific focus on top advisors’ needs. The candidate is someone who thrives in an innovative environment, excels at building

relationships with business partners, colleagues, and advisors. The candidate is forward-thinking, research driven, resilient, has excellent communication and organizational skills.

The Marketing Consultant reports to the Manager, Holistic & Wealth Marketing Strategy, Advisor Sales & Marketing Support. The Advisor Sales & Marketing Support team delivers customized, bespoke marketing initiatives at the regional, team and individual advisor levels. The team is accountable to define and deliver marketing programs that effectively position Sun Life advisors’ distinctive value propositions for target clients and drive leads, sales and Client engagement.

What you will do:

  • Develop, plan, test and execute marketing plans and tactics while working well with internal & external teams and business partners.
  • Maintain and continuously improve processes to ensure a consistent high quality of marketing deliverables, coordinating with internal service providers and external vendors, supporting projects as required.
  • Measure effectiveness of marketing activities and adjust plans and tactics based upon collected metrics.
  • Deliver advisor and field leader presentations to drive adoption of marketing campaigns.
  • Champion innovation supporting the advisor experience, ensuring we are delivering enhanced value by anticipating and meeting their needs to support Clients.
  • Accountable to adhere and control compliance regulations
  • Manage budget and expenses specific to project plans

What you need to succeed:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, or related field or relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing project management.
  • Proven track record of success leading, influencing and implementing new programs and initiatives requiring knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry

  • Highly organized with project management skills
  • Experience creating and executing marketing programs as part of collaborative team 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: must be able to consult, influence and negotiate with people from diverse backgrounds and levels throughout the organization
  • Embrace innovation and collaboration with an ability to identify opportunities to link projects, initiatives or opportunities together
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to present with impact, facilitate, negotiate and influence advisors and field leaders, various internal stakeholders and Clients

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
