About the role
In this Role the Communications Advisor will write and edit great, memorable and compelling content. You will develop and lead communication strategies and make an impact with creative ideas that support organization-wide initiatives. Collaborate within the Communication team consisting of storytellers, strategic thinkers, designers, brand experts and digital strategists.
What you’ll do
Coordination & Communication
Partner with our internal clients and a variety of stakeholders to create campaigns that connect, in inform, and engage different audiences.
Help tell stories, define key messages, and bring ideas to life.
Support and help drive the development of communication strategies, projects, and programs to drive awareness of key initiatives.
Work closely with leaders to strengthen OPTrust’s culture.
Change Management & Process Enhancement
Find ways to enhance and innovate communications practices and channels.
Develop original content and stories for OPTrust’s intranet, website, social media, Town Halls, Q&As, member newsletters, email campaigns, and other materials.
Review, proofread, and edit communications using the Canadian Press Stylebook as a guide.
Standard Requirements:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensure clear understanding and adherence of all OPTrust’s policies, procedures, guidelines as well as living our values and fostering an inclusive culture.
What you bring
Post-secondary degree or certificate in journalism, marketing, public relations, or a communications-related discipline.
Seven to ten years of relevant communications experience in a creative agency, PR firm, public and private sectors.
Proven experience in pension policy, investment, and responsible investing.
A team player who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment and can easily manage multiple projects.
Curious, confident, and can turn complicated concepts into clear, compelling, and memorable content.
Effective writer, strategic thinker, and presenter.
Proactive and creative in your approach to tackling challenges and identify solutions.
Solid track record of creating influential communications content and campaigns.
Pension communications experience a is plus.
Passionate about pensions or interested in contributing to meaningful work to create peace of mind in retirement for our members.

The range of expected compensation for this position is $104,550 to $ 128,763 per year.
