Your role and responsibilities:

As a Cloud Engineer, you will contribute to the cloud platform and the infrastructure which hosts all our internal projects workloads. You will work on a team to support and maintain infrastructure across many teams at Xanadu. The Platform team’s primary goal is to help ensure all team’s cloud-based workloads are running efficiently, secured, and highly available to empower our colleagues to build the first commercially viable quantum computer. As a result, you will completely reshape the nature of computation as we know it. You will:

  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain our cloud platform infrastructure that hosts various projects and workloads across many teams.
  • Implement robust observability and alerting solutions to proactively monitor our platform health and troubleshoot complex networks.
  • Design security policies and processes for our cloud platform.
  • Consult with teams and migrate existing projects to our centralized network.
  • Ensure high-quality production code by maintaining Infrastructure as Code repositories.

At Xanadu, we primarily work with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Python, and Github Actions. Proficiency in at least a subset of these technologies is essential.

Basic qualifications and experience:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of cloud engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with any major cloud providers: AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and best practices.
  • Experience transforming traditional on-site hardware and software configurations into a cloud-native solution.
  • Experience with Python (scripting).
  • Self-driven to deliver high-quality solutions to your stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Strong experience with AWS
  • Experience with hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with VPNs, bonus points for Zero-trust VPNs.
  • Experience with cloud-based SecOps.

This is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 110,000 - 150,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
