Who are we looking for?

We tackle complex logistics challenges while trying to simplify the lives of our customers; as a Claims Specialist you are at the centre of protecting our customers’ interests and our business relationships.

As a Claims Specialist, you’ll join our operations team supporting a portfolio of customers across fresh produce, tradeshow, and retail freight. Day to day, you will be responsible for managing freight claims from intake through final resolution – evaluating losses, investigating cold chain failures, negotiating with carriers and insurers, and working closely with operations to reduce risk and prevent recurrence. Transportation is a fast-paced environment; things change quickly, so we look for individuals who are tenacious, detail-oriented, and thrive on finding fair, timely outcomes.

If you are analytical, persistent, and a strong communicator who is looking for a challenging and meaningful role, then we want you.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Experience managing freight claims, including loss, damage, temperature deviations, spoilage, OS&D events, and service failures — from intake through settlement and closure
  • Knowledge of carrier liability, cargo insurance, bills of lading, and transportation regulations; you understand what it takes to build a strong, recoverable claim
  • Strong investigative instincts — you dig into cold chain records, reefer downloads, temperature readings, inspection reports, and delivery documentation to determine root cause and liability
  • Skilled negotiator — you work professionally and persistently with carriers, insurers, and customers to achieve fair and cost-effective outcomes
  • Ability to spot trends — you identify recurring issues across carriers, lanes, commodities, or handling practices and flag them to reduce future exposure
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation habits; your claim files are organized, complete, and audit-ready
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bonus Points if you have:

  • Experience in the logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage industry
  • Familiarity with fresh produce, temperature-sensitive freight, tradeshow logistics, or retail/fixture freight
  • Experience working with cargo insurers, adjusters, or legal representatives on complex or high-value claims

To be successful in this role, you are:

  • Exceptional attention to detail. This is your most important quality; you catch errors and discrepancies…better yet, you find them before they become mistakes!
  • High energy – like us, you’re always on and working at a fast pace. This is a fast-moving industry and our workplace is equally fast-paced. We are deadline driven since logistics is time sensitive.
  • Self-Starting – you don’t need or want anyone watching over you and motivating you, as you’re self-motivated, every day, to be the best that you can be.
  • Highly collaborative – you’re always looking for ways that you can help your teammates be successful and ensure success for our customers.
  • Relationship builders – you care about your customers, and that will come across in all of your interactions. You’ll foster strong and long-term relationships with them by treating their business like your own business.

What we offer:

  • This is a full-time permanent position working with our Dynamic ‘Green Team’ in our vibrant, and bright Burlington office. You’ll work in our office full time collaborating with our team.
  • We offer a competitive benefits package; you will receive a company paid laptop computer and the latest iPhone along with a company paid phone plan.
  • We have a monthly bonus structure where you see the results of your efforts quickly. If you’re a high performer, there is potential for promotion as early as 9–12 months on the job, with significant runway to grow within the organization.
  • We believe deeply in your success. We offer professional development courses and the opportunity to develop your career with Dynamic Connections. We are committed to your professional growth and strive to promote from within.
  • We are backed by a private equity firm, Shore Capital; this offers company growth and development. We regularly access training, knowledge sharing and resources to ensure you are operating at the peak of your game.
  • Our culture is a vibrant one; we work as a tight team and genuinely enjoy being together. We host regular team building events, have monthly team lunches and believe in rewarding and incentivising our team fully for their ongoing commitment. We honour our team through prizes, perks and regular raffles and events. We believe that diverse teams perform better and that fostering an inclusive work environment is a key part of growing a successful team. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.
