We’re looking for someone who thinks big, focuses on performance and growth, and truly understands how to scale a company. You will own all of People Operations and work closely with the CEO and the Executive team to continue building a high-performance team environment for this next growth stage.

  • Team Growth Plans - Defining, Coaching & Refinement of Career Planning & Growth
  • Talent Acquisition Strategy - Be a support to our Director of TA and TA team working through best practices in strategic planning for global growth
  • Compensation and Rewards - Own our total rewards and compensation structure ensuring it remains competitive to attract and retain the best talent.
  • Performance Enablement - Build Programming that drives performance rather than just measuring it.
  • Organizational Design - Define scaled team structure to support business objectives.
  • Compliance and Policy Work - Ensure we’re always on track with employment law and legislation for both HQ and the Retail side of the business (includes US).
  • Training and Development - Build a best in class L&D program supporting our HQ & Retail Teams.
  • Global expansion - Across HQ and our Retail storefronts.
  • DE&I Champion - Ensuring equitability across the entire organization.
  • Data & Analytics - Data driven decision making to unlock team and people insights.
  • Workplace of the Future - Ensure that Knix is at the forefront of a high functioning hybrid work environment (3 days per week).

About You

  • You are not worried about difficult conversations and your proudest moments are seeing your people thrive in their roles. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and aren’t afraid to bring new and innovative ideas to the table.
  • Ideally you’ve taken a People Operations team from small to large (500+) ensuring that you’re allocating the right resources across the business (not just hiring for hiring sake).You’ve built a personal people operations practice that other leaders envy and want to learn from.
  • You have a strong functional HR expertise in organizational design, performance management, employee engagement, coaching and development, conflict resolution, and data analytics and you know how to convert all of these areas into digestible programs for employees and leaders. You understand that each company is unique and can adapt your thinking and strategy to meet the specific needs of the organization.
  • You are an empathetic leader who brings a strong executive presence, excellent decision-making skills and the ability to work with discretion to create effective business solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive People/HR experience, including 5+ years at executive level.
  • BA/Masters in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience with a CHRL certification.
  • Executive human resources experience working at a high-growth, retail-focused organization.
  • Proven experience overseeing headcount in excess of 500+ with a strong global presence.
  • Strong understanding of global employment laws and regulations, with experience operating in Canadian and US markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to align HR initiatives with overall organizational goals and objectives.
  • Experience leading and developing strong verticals for People, Talent, Internal Communications and Learning & Development.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive insights and influence decision-making.
  • Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills with fervent attention to detailCapable of overseeing multiple projects and people initiatives while prioritizing under pressure.
  • Ability to efficiently and creatively solve problems with little or no oversight.
  • Proven ability and confidence in effectively managing large teams and direct reports.
  • Deep understanding of applicable employment laws and experience managing complex employee relations situations involving leadership.
  • Proficiency in picking up new software with ease (we use Google Suites, Hibob HRIS, Lever ATS, 15Five perf reviews, Barley compensation & Notion as our company wiki).
