Job Opportunity

As the Head of People and Culture at SWTCH Energy, you will be the steward of our most valuable asset, our people. You will play a pivotal role in continuing to shape and evolve our culture, ensuring our team remains highly engaged and motivated. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with the senior leadership team and the board to drive strategic HR initiatives that are meticulously aligned with our mission, values, and overarching business objectives. The SWTCH team is lean, motivated and driven by our mission to realize a clean energy future.

Responsibilities


Foster an inclusive and engaging workplace where SWTCHees feel they belong and can continue to grow

  • Strengthen diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to ensure all employees have an equal opportunity to thrive.
  • Launch programs and initiatives that promote belonging, such as affinity groups, open dialogue sessions, and inclusive leadership training.
  • Continuously measure employee engagement and take action based on feedback to ensure a consistently positive and inclusive workplace culture.


Make SWTCH a better workplace by cultivating a high-engagement, purpose-driven culture

  • Regularly communicate the company’s purpose and vision, tying individual and team contributions to larger organizational goals.
  • Enhance and launch employee recognition programs aligned with company values through engagement programs and employee events.
  • Apply for industry awards to acknowledge culture and measure success of SWTCH in industry


Support operational efficiency and alignment to drive organizational growth

  • Implement structured processes that promote efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and encourage collaboration across teams to drive quicker decision-making.
  • Workforce planning with executive leadership team
  • Align team Objectives and Key Results to organizational priorities to ensure all departments are working towards common goals, improving coordination and resource utilization.
  • Provide ongoing support and tools to help teams manage their workflows effectively, enabling them to focus on high-priority tasks that support the company’s growth.


Further People Operations

  • Develop your team and support implementation of enhanced HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements across Canada and the USA.
  • Create structure and plan for the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and career development, with an emphasis on retention and growth.
  • Enhance existing performance evaluation processes, ensuring feedback is constructive and aligned with business goals.
  • Manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent using data as a tool to educate and inform employees on the compensation philosophy.

Requirements
  •  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  •  Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, with at least 15 years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to work closely with the advisory board and propose people strategies in line with business needs. 
  •  Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations where our people work across North America.
  •  Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  •  Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  •  Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a positive organizational culture.
  •  Experience with DEI initiatives and driving cultural diversity.
  •  Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
