The Account Executive will drive revenue growth in Life Sciences by managing strategic accounts, developing business opportunities, and closing sales. Responsibilities include executing sales strategy, engaging with clients, collaborating with internal teams, and representing the company at industry events.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Account Executive (AE) plays a critical role in driving revenue growth within the Life Sciences segment. This individual will manage strategic accounts, develop new business opportunities, and position PointClickCare as the leading provider of Long-Term and Post-Acute Care (LTPAC) Real-World Data (RWD) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) solutions. The AE will work closely with pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research organizations to deliver insights that support drug development, commercialization, and market access strategies. This position will be based out the head office in Mississauga or remote, with travel to client locations within their assigned territory as well as conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution:
-Working with a cross functional team to produce, qualify and close quality sales leads
-Analyzing customer needs in support of current business objectives
-Following up on leads and closing new account business
-Travelling to assigned territory, meeting with customers and selling products face to face
-Meeting/exceeding sales targets set by the company
-Develop and implement account plans aligned with Life Sciences objectives and revenue targets.
-Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territory or therapeutic areas.
-Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals.
Client Engagement:
-Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
-Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and aligning PointClickCare solutions to deliver measurable value.
Collaboration:
-Partner with internal teams (Operations, Product, Marketing) to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
-Provide feedback to product teams on market trends and customer requirements.
Market Development:
-Represent PointClickCare at industry conferences, webinars, and client meetings to promote thought leadership in RWD/RWE.
-Stay informed on regulatory changes, payer dynamics, and emerging trends in Life Sciences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare technology sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a consultative selling environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical research, market access, and commercialization processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated expertise of the pharmaceutical, clinical research services and biotechnology industries
- Demonstrated track record as a self-starter, showing personal initiative and resourcefulness to drive results while working in an independent setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships
- Strong relationship development, communications and negotiations skills
- Excellent judgment in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of this position
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team-based work environment
- Desire to work in an environment that rewards for performance
- Experience with large customers managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through closing
- Post-Acute Long-Term Care experience an Asset
At PointClickCare, base salary and commissions are among the many components that make up our total rewards package. The CAD on target earnings range (base salary + commissions) for this position is $212,000 - $250,000 + benefits. Our ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
