Position Summary...The Senior Director, Digital and Media is responsible for setting and leading Walmart Canada’s enterprise growth marketing strategy across online and offline media, SEO, and customer engagement.
This role is accountable for building an integrated, full-funnel growth engine that drives customer acquisition, engagement, loyalty, and lifetime value across omni-channel and eCommerce businesses, ensuring marketing investments are aligned to core business priorities and deliver measurable impact. Operating as a senior enterprise leader, this role sets growth priorities, governs investment decisions, and establishes performance standards that guide how media and customer engagement drive business outcomes.

 


What you'll do...
  • Define and own Walmart Canada’s holistic growth marketing strategy across Paid Media, SEO, CRM, Walmart Delivery Pass acquisition and retention, and customer lifecycle management, ensuring alignment to enterprise business priorities.
  • Strategic leadership across owned marketing media investments for both Store and eCommerce, as well as advertiser-funded offsite retail media programs through Walmart Connect, ensuring media strategies are aligned to Walmart Canada business objectives while delivering measurable value for advertising partners.
  • Set the strategic vision and operating model for Walmart Delivery Pass marketing, including member acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, and value communication, in close partnership with Product and Membership teams.
  • Lead customer engagement strategy across CRM channels (email, push, in-app, SMS, personalization, and others), defining lifecycle frameworks that drive frequency, retention, lifetime value, and customer advocacy.
  • Own enterprise SEO strategy across eCommerce, ensuring organic traffic growth complements paid media, improves efficiency, and strengthens long-term customer acquisition.
  • Own the enterprise measurement vision across media, CRM, SEO, and Walmart Delivery Pass, establishing KPI frameworks, attribution models, experimentation standards, and incrementality approaches that clearly quantify growth impact.
  • Provide executive oversight of marketing investment across paid media, lifecycle channels, and membership marketing, ensuring disciplined prioritization, trade-off decisions, and ROI optimization.
  • Serve as a senior marketing leader partnering with eCommerce, Merchandising, Membership, Walmart Connect, Analytics, Finance, Product, and Technology to align growth priorities, roadmaps, and investment decisions.
  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary internal teams and agency partners across media, customer engagement, SEO, and measurement, establishing modern operating models, performance standards, and capability roadmaps, while building strong talent pipelines and succession plans that scale with business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience across growth marketing, media, customer engagement, or digital commerce, including senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing directors and senior leaders across multiple marketing disciplines.
  • Deep expertise in paid media, SEO, CRM, lifecycle marketing, and membership-based growth models.
  • Strong understanding of MarTech and AdTech ecosystems, measurement, attribution, experimentation, and privacy-safe data usage.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex performance data into executive-level insights and decisions.
  • Experience in retail, grocery, subscription, or omni-channel environments strongly preferred.
