Ontario region pay information

The salary range for this position in Ontario is $80,000 to $130,000. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills and competencies, and unique qualifications.

Your role, your impact

As a Business System Analyst, Capital Markets, you’ll work closely with various stakeholders to analyze, document and optimize business processes and systems related to derivative products.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day

  • Analyze and document business requirements for front- and middle-office processes across multiple asset classes, including but not limited to derivatives, fixed income, equities and money market products;
  • Collaborate with trading, risk and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of systems;
  • Develop detailed business and functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives;
  • Conduct gap analysis and identify areas for process improvement and optimization;
  • Support the implementation of new systems and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations;
  • Work with IT and development teams to ensure accurate translation of business requirements into technical solutions;
  • Participate in the testing and validation of new systems, including user acceptance testing (UAT);
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and best practices in capital markets.
Qualifications

Keys to your success

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, business or a related field;
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a business analyst;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working as a business analyst with the front and middle office for capital markets;
  • Experience with financial software systems and platforms;
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

Extra edge

  • Advanced degree or certification in finance or business analysis;
  • Proven experience working with SQL, including querying, data analysis, and troubleshooting;
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and compliance in the capital market;
  • Familiarity with project management practices and tools.
