The Business Manager is the chief of staff function for the Head of Technology, Capital Formation & TSX Trust. This role owns operating cadence, financial and headcount management, vendor and procurement coordination, executive reporting, and cross-pillar program enablement for the entire Capital Formation technology organization. As a horizontal staff role serving all 7 pillars, the Business Manager is the single point of operational coordination that frees the delivery and engineering Heads to focus on their pillars while ensuring executive cadence, reporting, and operational discipline are run at a senior leadership standard.

  • This role reports to: Head of Technology, Capital Formation & TSX Trust

  • Job Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities

  • Financial & TBM Management: Lead the financial management cadence for Capital Formation technology and broader Global Technology Services (GTS). Own budget tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and Technology Business Management (TBM) reporting across all 7 pillars.

  • Workforce Planning: Drive headcount and workforce management, overseeing hiring tracking, vacancy management, organizational reporting, and span-of-control optimization.

  • Vendor & Procurement Operations: Coordinate vendor and procurement activities, including contract coordination, purchase order (PO) management, vendor relationship operations, and third-party governance support.

  • Executive Operations & Governance: Run the executive cadence for the Head of Technology, ensuring high-standard preparation for leadership team meetings, town halls, all-hands communications, and board or CIO reporting.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead cross-pillar coordination, OKR rollups, and continuous process improvement initiatives. Drive ad-hoc executive priorities, including M&A integration support and reorganization execution.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a key liaison with HR, Finance, and Procurement to streamline operational workflows and remove friction for engineering and delivery heads.

Must Have(s)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Significant progressive experience in technology operations, technology finance, business management, or chief of staff roles.

  • Industry Context: A proven track record supporting senior technology executives within financial services or heavily regulated environments.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong experience managing complex technology budgets, forecasting, and working within TBM frameworks.

  • Leadership & Discretion: Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing capabilities at the executive level, combined with absolute discretion when handling sensitive organizational data.

Nice to Have(s)

  • Experience assisting with corporate M&A technology integrations or large-scale agile transformations.

  • Familiarity with advanced executive dashboarding and enterprise OKR tracking tools.

Salary Range: $120K/year - $130K/year CAD. Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
