Do you love talking to people? Do you reach for the phone rather than email? Are you a journalist who thrives on getting quotes and building a contacts book? Are you ready to tell the stories behind global business?

If so, Key Media is the place for you. AI is changing our world, but human connections and relationships are more important than ever to produce engaging storytelling, insightful articles, and world-leading B2B coverage.

This is your chance to join a high‑performing international media company with trusted business brands, ambitious growth plans, and a newsroom that’s innovating with AI while staying true to quality journalism.

At Key Media, we’re looking to connect with talented journalists in multiple regions (especially the US and Canada) for current and upcoming opportunities across our portfolio of B2B titles. If you love interviewing senior leaders, chasing hard‑to‑reach contacts, breaking original stories – and you’re curious about using AI as a powerful reporting tool – we’d love to hear from you.

About the opportunity

We’re building a network of business journalists who can bring complex subjects to life across sectors like wealth and investments, HR, insurance, mortgage, finance, legal and safety. You’ll work on market‑leading titles such as Wealth Professional, HRD, Insurance Business, Mortgage Professional, Investment News and more – producing insightful, high‑impact content for professional audiences around the world.

You’ll join a global editorial team that values original reporting, strong relationships with sources and a proactive, ideas‑driven approach. We’re continually evolving how we work – from our interview‑driven coverage to smart use of AI for research and idea generation – while keeping editorial judgment and integrity firmly in human hands.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to:

Write for some of the world’s most recognized B2B titles across legal, HR, safety, insurance, mortgage and finance
Interview and profile C‑suite executives and senior business leaders, often on the most pressing issues in their industries
Build and nurture a powerful network of sources, contacts and subject‑matter experts
Experiment with AI tools as part of your workflow (for research, angles, data exploration and structuring) while shaping best practice in a modern newsroom
Work with editors and leaders who champion quality, originality and professional growth

Our benefits are competitive and market‑aligned in each region. For example, in Canada we offer:

100% employer‑paid health and dental premiums (including dependents)
Life insurance coverage
Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
E‑learning and development support through LinkedIn Learning
Free, confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Extra vacation: earn an additional paid vacation day for every year you’re with us
One paid volunteer day each year
Rewards and recognition programs, including quarterly awards, vouchers and travel incentives

Travel Orange- work from another location anywhere in the world for up to 12 weeks of a year

Region‑specific benefits may vary and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.

Our editorial roles typically involve:

Writing timely, engaging articles for a portfolio of B2B titles (e.g. Wealth Professional, HRD, Insurance Business, Mortgage Professional, Investment News and others)

Producing at least two interview-driven stories and one breaking news story with quotes per day, while booking and conducting interviews efficiently as part of your daily routine

Spending at least 60 minutes daily in talk time (phone, Teams and in person), with daily phone activity required
Interviewing and profiling senior executives and industry leaders – often to tight deadlines
Actively chasing contacts, building a strong network of sources and generating original, agenda‑setting story ideas
Producing high‑quality, well‑researched news, features and analysis tailored to professional audiences
Using AI tools as part of your workflow (research support, idea generation, data exploration, first‑draft structuring) while applying strong editorial judgment at every stage
Collaborating with editors and management to grow online traffic, support new and existing products, and explore new markets and format

About you

You’re an experienced journalist or high‑potential early‑career reporter with a genuine interest in business and professional services markets
You’re a confident communicator – on the page, on the phone and in person
You’re comfortable conducting interviews, chasing hard‑to‑reach contacts, fronting client or stakeholder meetings and networking at industry events
You bring a “can‑do” attitude, strong news sense and commitment to high editorial standards
You’re curious, adaptable and excited about learning and working with AI tools as they evolve
Experience in one or more of our core sectors (HR, insurance, mortgage, finance, legal, safety) is a plus, but not essential if you bring the right mindset and willingness to learn

If you’re passionate about business journalism, eager to build a global portfolio and excited by the blend of traditional reporting and next‑generation tools, we’d love to connect with you.
