As a Business Development Representative at Prophix, you will be at the forefront of our growth engine — identifying and engaging prospective customers through strategic outbound prospecting to generate qualified sales opportunities. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to align outreach efforts with broader go-to-market initiatives, ensuring a seamless lead-to-opportunity experience. What You Will Do

· Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting via phone, email, and LinkedIn to engage key decision-makers within mid-market and enterprise target accounts

· Research and analyze prospect accounts to craft personalized, insight-driven outreach that resonates with each buyer's unique context and challenges

· Qualify potential customers against Prophix's ideal customer profile and secure high-quality meetings for the sales team

· Partner with Marketing to align outbound activity with active demand generation campaigns and ensure consistent messaging across channels

· Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all prospect interactions and pipeline progression within Salesforce CRM

· Analyze your own prospecting performance metrics and continuously refine tactics to improve conversion rates and meeting quality

· Participate actively in sales training and coaching programs, applying new skills and methodologies to strengthen outreach effectiveness

· Stay current on Prophix's product capabilities, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to position our solutions with confidence and credibility


Requirements

Required Qualifications

·  1–3 years of experience in a B2B sales development, business development, or related role, ideally within a SaaS environment

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages and hold engaging, consultative conversations

· Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed performance targets in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

· Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and sales engagement tools such as Outreach or Highspot

· Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a resilient, positive attitude and genuine eagerness to grow

· Strong research and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of outreach activity

· Comfortable using AI tools responsibly and effectively in day-to-day work

· Adaptable to evolving tools, technologies, and workflows in a dynamic, high-growth environment

· Comfortable using AI tools responsibly to support tasks such as research, drafting, and data review

· Able to learn new tools and adapt as technology and workflows evolve.

· Curious, open to new approaches, and motivated to continuously improve.

· Collaborative mindset when working across teams and with AI supported tooling.

Preferred Qualifications

·  Experience in the financial performance management or FP&A software space

·  Familiarity with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPIN, or Challenger

·  Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting platforms

·  A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

 Compensation

The base salary for this role is $55,000-$65,000 with target commissions of $35,000-$45,000. Therefore, the total target compensation is $90,000 CAD to $110,000 CAD, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, location, and internal equity.
