Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

As a Business Development Consultant, you will be the driving force behind growth in the Small to Medium Business (SMB) segment. This merchant-facing role focuses on acquiring new clients, expanding relationships with existing customers, and leveraging strategic partnerships to maximize revenue opportunities. You'll combine proactive prospecting with consultative solution design to deliver tailored commerce solutions that meet client needs. Using a modern sales approach and deep market expertise, you will guide prospects through the sales funnel, foster long-term relationships, and contribute to Moneris' success in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Location: You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to Manager, Field Sales.

Posting Type: Pipeline for a future class on August 4, 2026.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $47,630 - $66,681.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

  • Drive SMB Growth – Source and convert new business opportunities through proactive outreach, cold calling, and partner engagement.

  • Consultative Selling – Apply the Challenger Sales model to understand client needs, deliver insights, and design tailored solutions.

  • Pipeline Management – Maintain a segmented sales pipeline by vertical, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely follow-up.

  • Relationship Building – Manage client relationships from initial contact through post-sale integration, fostering satisfaction and retention.

  • Negotiation & Closing – Create proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals to meet or exceed revenue targets.

  • Market & Product Expertise – Stay informed on Moneris solutions, industry trends, and competitive offerings to strengthen sales strategies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with internal teams (Credit, Marketing, Legal, Product) to ensure seamless execution and shared success.

  • Sales Enablement – Leverage digital tools and adhere to sales processes for reporting, documentation, and operational excellence.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related field.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution.

  • 1+ years of experience considered an asset

  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of sales reporting, tracking, and strategic selling process.

  • Demonstrated track record of developing mid-tier level client relationships.

  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset (reading, writing, and verbal).
