As a cross-sector solutions business analyst, you analyze the organization’s business needs and business context on highly innovative, cross-sector strategic projects and initiatives. You formally set out business objectives and determine their value to the organization. You help identify, assess and recommend business solutions, and clarify their scope. You analyze the impacts of solutions on the organization, and ensure they’re integrated, from needs assessment to rollout. Your projects and initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of business analysis. In our sector, you interact with or integrate solutions/products teams within our scope, including client, billing and communications solutions, as well as certain projects involving home and auto solutions and our digital solutions. As a result, many of our products are cross-sector in nature, and so are some of the projects or mandates you work on. You make recommendations on the development and execution of projects and initiatives with a very high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills, comprehensive, in-depth understanding of your line of business and the organization and ability to manage ambiguity. Coordination is critical. You interact with a very large number of key partners working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy and the ability to balance the interests of multiple parties are therefore essential. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Analyze costs, benefits, risks, constraints, business opportunities and stakeholder needs to be factored into the project’s scope.

  • Analyze impacts with the parties involved, and identify prerequisites and internal dependencies.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership in carrying out complex mandates and/or initiatives.

  • Serve as a resource person by using your expertise and contributing to the team’s skills development by sharing best practices.

  • Identify, formalize and communicate business solutions.

  • Anticipate issues and propose improvements.

  • Make sure solutions are developed with a cross-sector vision and include end-to-end requirement traceability.

  • Help develop testing strategies and acceptance testing plans.

  • Support the business owner and business sectors during solution rollout and  post-implementation.

  • Help identify the change management strategy and execute its activities, as needed.
