BIM Coordinator

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a proactive and self-motivated BIM Coordinator to join our Infrastructure, Rail & Transit BIM team in Canada. This role involves overseeing the management and coordination of BIM data, ensuring quality, compliance with standards, and the optimization of processes for multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Location – Toronto, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Manage and coordinate BIM models across various disciplines to ensure data integrity and compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
  • Conduct quality checks and audits on models to ensure adherence to project standards.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders to resolve design clashes and optimize workflows.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to project teams on BIM standards, tools, and processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies to continuously improve BIM practice.

The ideal candidate:

  • Recognized degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in BIM Coordination, preferably in infrastructure, civil, or municipal projects.
  • Experience with clash detection, coordination, and model auditing.
  • Proficiency in CADD/BIM and GIS tools, including:
    • Autodesk: Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D, ACC.
    • Bentley: MicroStation, Open Roads designer.
    • ESRI: ArcGIS.
  • Proven track record of working on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Familiarity with document and construction management systems such as Bentley ProjectWise, SharePoint, Aconex.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (Dynamo, Python) are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while collaborating in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Familiar with computer equipment, and standard, office software applications, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards and protocols (ISO-19650, LOD development, etc..).
  • Fluency in English is mandatory (both written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in French or other languages is an asset, depending on project locations.
