Staples B2B is looking for a highly strategic and commercially minded Senior Marketing Manager, Small & Medium Business (SMB) to lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to drive acquisition, retention, revenue growth and share of wallet across our key B2B divisions. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, planning, and execution — where you will transform merchant priorities, customer insights, and revenue objectives into omni-channel campaigns that resonate with business buyers.

Reporting to the Director of Integrated Marketing, B2B, this role plays a pivotal leadership role for translating business objectives, customer insights, market trends and competitive dynamics into integrated growth strategies that accelerate the B2B business within Staples Canada.

You will serve as a true marketing partner to Merchandising and B2B Sales, a trusted partner to our key vendors and suppliers, and a champion for marketing excellence across the organization. If you thrive in complex, fast-moving environments and want to shape the B2B marketing agenda for one of Canada’s most recognized brands — this is your opportunity.

  • Partner with merchandising teams across all categories to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to drive awareness, demand and growth across the full Staples Business portfolio

  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing scalable marketing programs that support both short-term business performance and long-term growth objectives

  • Partner with Merchandising and Sales teams (directors, managers and specialists) to understand quarterly and monthly priorities. Develop support plans for promotional activity, new launches, top brands, etc.

  • Provide recommendations on go-to-market strategy; acting as a strategic partner – not just a service provider. Be prepared to challenge assumptions and influence teams to think differently.

  • Develop strong relationships with key vendors and execute marketing programs that support new launches, promos and seasonal priorities in-line with Staples enterprise calendar.

  • Build omni-channel campaigns encompassing both paid, owned and earned tactics to support collaborative vendor and Staples’ priorities.

  • Build and analyze reports to provide visibility into marketing campaign results and measure campaign effectiveness, including outbound marketing metrics, lead distribution, opportunity stages, pipeline contribution, and ROI.

  • Influence decision-making across all levels of the organization through strong business cases, insights, and strategic recommendations.

Some of what you need:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus in Marketing, Business or Communications
  • 8-10+ years prior experience in Marketing Strategy, Planning or Communications Role
  • Experience leading complex go to market initiatives across multiple channels and stakeholder groups
  • Excellent executive communication presentation and storytelling skills
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and lead through organization change and transformation
