At SecondShop, we’re a team of Canadians who believe in doing better—for our country, your wallets, and our planet.

We started with a simple idea: why should perfectly good products go to waste or sit unsold when people like you are out there looking for smart ways to save? We have made it our mission to source the highest quality open-box, overstocked, and scratch-and-dent products from the top brands - offering them to Canadians at up to 50% off. But we are not just about savings—we’re about changing how people shop. Say goodbye to paying full price and hello to smarter spending.

Role Overview

SecondShop is seeking a results‑driven Wholesale Liquidation Sales Strategist to accelerate the growth of our reseller and B2B partnerships. This role operates in a fast‑moving, high‑variety inventory environment where success depends on curiosity, pattern recognition, buyer‑mapping, and the ability to match the right buyers to the right loads quickly and accurately.

The ideal candidate has experience in liquidation, secondary markets, or any environment where products, conditions, and manifests change daily. You thrive in ambiguity, learn fast, and build trust‑based relationships that lead to repeat business.

This role is located in Burlington, Ontario. Applicants must be located in Burlington or willing to commute.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Identify, profile, and categorize reseller buyers based on their business model, risk tolerance, and product preferences.
  • Match buyers to inventory using SKU logic, pattern recognition, and an understanding of mixed‑condition goods.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, moving opportunities from initial contact to closed deals.
  • Operate autonomously, managing your own outreach, follow‑ups, deal flow, and buyer relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to create mutually beneficial, long‑term partnerships.
  • Communicate deal details clearly, ensuring buyers understand condition, risk, and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of constantly changing inventory, including condition grades, manifests, and retailer‑specific product behavior.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth fulfillment and accurate buyer communication.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in liquidation, wholesale, secondary markets, or a similarly fast‑changing sales environment.
  • Experience working with wholesale clients in a product‑driven environment, ideally in retail liquidation, e‑commerce, or consumer goods.
  • Ability to quickly understand buyer psychology, categorize buyer types, and build trust‑based relationships.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing a pipeline, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different buyer types.
  • High curiosity, fast pattern recognition, and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and adapting to constantly changing inventory.
What We Offer
  • A competitive base salary ($50-70K) with performance‑based commission, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Access to exclusive discounts on SecondShop products for yourself and your family.
  • Opportunities to take on new challenges, shape the company’s future, and own key initiatives in a growing startup.
  • A passionate, mission‑driven team that values collaboration, innovation, and responsible shopping.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact every day by supporting sustainability and smart spending for Canadians.
