About The Opportunity

Position Summary
Supervises the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ensures that site operates in an efficient, cost effective manner so as to achieve production quotas in accordance with client product specifications as directed by Site Manager.
  • Sets up production lines under the direction of the Site Manager in accordance with PPSI Policies and Procedures and Work Instructions, specifically performing lines clearances.
  • Prepares accurate documentation of Menasha and temporary payroll reporting (sign in/time sheets, weekly time sheets, production recording, PO control forms, and daily production sheets).  Sanitation Checklists.
  • Monitor’s feedstock, date codes/lot codes/shelf life, packaging material and print labels during production.
  • Checks and informs Site Manager of any machine breakdowns of equipment within the site and maintains a daily log.
  • Resolves problems with machinery, temporary personnel and contacts Site Manager if assistance is required.
  • Ensures 1st completed unit conforms to client written product specification.
  • Makes recommendations for continuous improvement with respect to the flow of all production.
  • Reports operational and quality issues to the Site Manager and/or Quality Assurance Manager
  • Performs two-hour quality and quota checks.
  • Performs stress test on production to ensure optimal performance/productivity.
  • Administers first aid, investigates incident and immediately informs Site Manager and/or Safety Coordinator about all accidents/injuries that occur.
  • Ensures compliance of all Health and Safety Rules and Regulations, GMP and Food Defence protocols.
  • Investigates and reports all property violations.
  • Maintains site in a clean and orderly manner in accordance with company standards.
  • Follows and adheres to all ISO Quality Standards, company policies and procedures, and work instructions, and performs new and refresher training for Health and Safety/GMP’s on a three-month basis.
  • Assists with hiring and training of new production employees. 
  • Trains, coaches and monitors the work assignments of all production employees.
  • Implements disciplinary action as required, adhering to established policy.
  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed.

Education & Experience

  • High School graduate
  • Minimum of 2–5 years supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

              

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a factory and/or warehouse setting.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Stooping, walking, and lifting on a regular basis.
  • Position may be based at Menasha Packaging site or customer location.
