Job Description- We are seeking experienced Oracle Database Administrators to support a critical datacenter migration project.
- The successful contractors will work with our database team to plan, execute, and validate the migration of Oracle database infrastructure to a new datacenter environment. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in Oracle high availability, Disaster recovery and replication technologies. To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
- This role requires good communication skills, both with team members and business contacts.
- Lead and execute datacenter migration activities for Oracle database infrastructure.
- Design and implement datacenter migration strategies utilizing Oracle RAC, Dataguard, and GoldenGate Microserices technologies
- Configure and validate Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) in the target datacenter environment
- Set up and configure Oracle Dataguard for database replication and failover between source and target environments
- Implement Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication
- Configure and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and management of migrated databases
- Perform Oracle Grid/Database/Goldengate software installations as needed
- Perform migration testing, validation, and cutover activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, replication, and connectivity issues during migration
- Create and maintain comprehensive migration documentation and runbooks
- Coordinate with network, storage, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful migration
- Work with project management leaders and application owners to coordinate database migration efforts.
- Perform post-migration validation and optimization Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) - configuration, administration, and troubleshooting in production environments
- Strong expertise in Oracle Active Dataguard - implementation, management, and failover procedures for disaster recovery
- Proven experience with Oracle GoldenGate Microservices- setup, configuration, and management of real-time data replication
- Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) - installation, configuration, and operational management
- 10+ years of Oracle database administration experience - Demonstrated experience with datacenter migrations or large-scale Oracle infrastructure projects
- Expert knowledge of Oracle database architecture, internals, and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of Oracle backup and recovery using RMAN
- Experience with Linux/Unix system administration and shell scripting
- Knowledge of storage and network technologies relevant to database operations
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Ability to work effectively under pressure during critical migration events
- Strong communication and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Python scripting
- Experience with Oracle Data Pump, SQL*Loader, and other data movement tools
- Extensive Oracle DB management skills, preferably with Oracle 19c
- Extensive experience setting up Oracle Active Dataguard for large databases across geographical regions
- Hands on experience with Oracle Goldengate Microservices setting up and supporting multimaster replication.
- Preferably Oracle Goldengate 23ai - Hands on experience managing Oracle Enterprise manager 13c
- Nice to have - Working knowledge of automation using Ansible. - Hands on experience managing DB infrastructure in AWS (EC2 and RDS)
