Job Description:

The Integrated Marketing Planning team partners with our business units, channels and marketing specialists to design world class marketing strategies and campaigns that drive shareholder value and customer loyalty. Our team acts as leaders on all aspects of marketing, influencing the business strategy, while ensuring TD’s brand is protected and delivered in the customer experience. As part of Marketing, the Integrated Marketing Planning team operates in a Primarily On Site office model (4 days a week in office)

Overall Accountability:

The Associate Manager, Communications Insights should be a strategic thinking, curious individual who is experienced in conducting market research, crafting recommendations on communications improvement, and synthesizing multiple sources of information into a concise message to support the delivery of Horizontal Strategies vision. This individual will report to the Senior Manager, Horizontal Strategies & Behavioural Insights Lead. 

The Associate Manager, Horizontal Marketing & Communications Insights will lead research efforts using TD's communications evaluation methodology to support communications development, optimization, and evaluation; track, analyze, and report communications outcomes; link research outcomes to customer outcomes; develop communications playbooks and evidence based best practices; and support communications initiatives. This is a full-time, office focused role based in Toronto, Canada, combining work from TD offices (4 days a week) and home.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the execution of communications testing leveraging TD's communication research methodology.

  • Provide thought leadership and consultation to Business partners, translating communications insights into clear, actionable implications that inform communications development, best practices, and execution.

  • Connect customer communications to behavioural outcomes.

  • Embed communications best practices from insights into communications frameworks, guides, and standards.

  • Collaborate with research partners to continuously evolve communications research approaches and partnerships, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, innovation, and impact through new methodologies, tools, and vendor capabilities.

  • Build and maintain close working relationships with key partners to understand and influence communications strategies.

  • Foster vendor collaboration, inspire great work, drive efficiency, and practice financial discipline.

Experience/Skillsets:

  • 3-6 years professional experience in any of the following areas: consumer insights, market research, UX or systems design research, communications development, customer experience program operation, business analysis.

  • Subject matter expertise in a range of research approaches, leveraging panels, CSAT programs, syndicated studies, user experience research, focus groups, and qualitative & quantitative methodologies.

  • Strong self-starter and instigator who takes initiative and can identify new opportunities and has the drive and ability to bring them to life.

  • An openness and passion to seek out new ways of capturing customer feedback and insights.

  • Strong evidence/data-based story-telling and narrative building skills. Ability to aggregate and synthesize data from a variety of secondary and primary sources to identify the insights and bring the story to life.

  • Project management acumen; proactive with effective time management skills; ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and keep key stakeholders informed.

  • Excellent partnership and vendor management skills. Strong communication (verbal and written), negotiation and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to establish and grow strong partnerships with stakeholders inside and outside of an organization.

  • Confident interacting and presenting to stakeholders and partners at all levels including Executives and drive toward business decisions and outcomes.

  • Ability to design creative and visual reports and presentations to effectively communicate results and findings from data and insights projects/initiatives.

  • Knowledgeable on industry/market/channel trends and understanding of the craft of communications development and execution.

Specific Education Requirements:

  • University or Post-Secondary education required.

  • Communications skills with a background in Marketing, Servicing, or Regulatory an asset.

  • Experience working in Agile methodology an asset.

  • Market Research experience an asset.
