The Opportunity

This full-time opportunity supports Dentalcorp’s ongoing data and analytics transformation across its national network of 650+ clinics. As part of the Data Engineering & Architecture team, the Associate Data Engineer will help develop, support, and improve enterprise data platforms, pipelines, data quality, and source system integrations that enable trusted insights and better business decisions.

In This Role, You Will
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and business decisions.
  • Support data ingestion, transformation, validation, documentation, and source system integration.
  • Gain hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud data tools through migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
  • Investigate data quality issues, reconcile discrepancies, and document mappings, results, controls, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, QA, analysts, and business stakeholders through planning, delivery, and review cycles.
  • Follow team standards for development, testing, code review, deployment, production support, and responsible AI use.
What You’ll Bring
  • 1+ years of experience, internship experience, academic project work, or equivalent exposure in data engineering, analytics engineering, database development, software development, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Foundational SQL skills, with exposure to data pipelines, ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing, analytical reporting, and data validation is required.
  • Interest in learning Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms; familiarity with Python, scripting, source control, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD, or Agile practices is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation habits, problem-solving skills, and ability to investigate issues, ask thoughtful questions, and apply feedback.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with interest in healthcare, multi-site operations, or enterprise-scale analytics considered an asset.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 CAD to $90,000 CAD annually (plus a bonus of up to 10% and competitive total rewards and benefits package). Offers within this range are determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity considerations. This job posting is for an existing vacancy. 

You will be based at our Toronto Support Centre, located at 181 Bay Street in the heart of Toronto’s financial district. This position will be on site from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays designated as work-from-home days.
