Job Description

The Assistant Sales Manager role focuses on ensuring that company sales goals are met or exceeded including achieving all key business metrics while following the California Closets policies and procedures. This role ensures that the designers are delivering on the California Closets standards of excellence with each and every customer. The Assistant Sales Manager also collaborates with the Operations team to ensure that the process flow is being followed and results in delivering on a high standard of customer service at all touchpoints.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

  • Coach and mentor, an assigned team of Design Consultants ensuring all company revenue goals and key performance indicators are met or exceeded through monthly (Goal Setting & Review Meetings) GS&R’s. 
  • Ensure direct reports are delivering exceptional customer experience with every customer touch point and follow up on completed procedures per company policy. 
  • Performance manages underperformers following performance management guidelines to improve results including detailed documentation, may have to include HR and General Manager. 
  • Collaborate with Sales Manager and other Assistant Sales Managers Sales Leads to ensure all mandatory training is completed as per training strategy for new and on-going training and development including classroom and CC 360 (Not academy) courses & other required training sessions from time to time. 
  • Working in collaboration with the Sales Manager and Central Support team to ensure the assigned Design Team has the appropriate mix of company leads and self-generated leads. 
  • Work with Design Consultants to create a Personal Marketing Plan and/or a plan for self-generated leads. 
  • Manage day-to-day performance of all sales team members  
  • Co-Manage sales contests and incentive programs and collaborate with Sales Manager on creation and tracking. 
  • Working in collaboration with the rest of the Sales Leadership team, co-schedule and co-facilitate monthly Sales Meeting including coordination with guest speakers and head office personnel. 
  • Analyze sales data and develop strategy to address areas of opportunity. 
  • Monitor and enforce sales team’s participation in local industry meetings and functions (i.e. BIA, Chamber of Commerce, and ASID). 
  • Monitor and enforce sales team’s attendance at the monthly sales meetings.  
  • Ensure correct usage of CRM (dashboard & SalesForce) including quality of data entry, statuses etc. 

New Designer Training: 

  • Potential involvement in initial and follow up interviews.
  • Potentially coordinate your assigned Designers’ access to websites (CC email, Paylocity, CC 360, SalesForce, Dashboard, Slack, Digideck, DocuSign, Zoom, Sharepoint), materials (Computer, iPad, CAD key, Business Cards, branded materials and supplies) and samples (Designer Bags, Finish boxes). 
  • Ensure all mandatory training is completed as per training strategy for new training and development including classroom and CC 360 courses. 

Qualifications

  • College or University degree preferred  
  • Interior design education, direct industry experience or proven passion for home décor.  
  • 5+ years of direct selling consultative sales experience within a business to consumer environment, preferably in high-end furniture, design showrooms, or luxury retail environments 
  • 3+ years of management/leadership experience  
  • Proven ability to drive revenue through a heavy sales focus, effective lead generation strategies, and oversight of showroom and tradeshow events.
  • Proven track record of leading a team to exceed sales quotas and sales metrics 
  • Valid driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle
