About this opportunity:
Job Location: Mississauga, ON
At this time, Ericsson Canada Inc. does not provide immigration assistance/sponsorship now or in the future for this position.
We're a global software organization delivering OSS/BSS solutions to leading Tier-1 operators. Our product is platform-agnostic, built from 75+ microservices and deployed on Kubernetes across multiple clouds. We follow Scaled Agile, emphasize automation and continuous improvement, and are investing heavily in AI-enabled developer tooling and model lifecycle capabilities. Join our platform team to shape the runtime, CI/CD, and AI/ML infrastructure that enables product teams to move fast and reliably.
What you will do
  • Design, build, and operate Kubernetes-native platform components (operators, controllers, CRDs) supporting multi-cluster and multi-cloud deployments
  • Own end-to-end platform features: CI/CD/GitOps pipelines, infrastructure as code, release automation, and cluster lifecycle tooling
  • Enable self-service developer experiences: service templates, onboarding flows, developer portals, and catalogs
  • Integrate and operate AI/ML platform capabilities: model packaging, model registry, serving/inference, GPU scheduling, autoscaling, and lifecycle pipelines
  • Build observability for both microservices and models (metrics, logging, tracing, model performance and drift detection)
  • Embed platform security and supply-chain controls (RBAC, secrets, vulnerability scanning, SBOMs)
  • Produce and maintain runbooks, SLOs, and automation to reduce manual toil and improve reliability
  • Lead technical designs, perform code and architecture reviews, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional, international teams
  • Support product lifecycle activities including verification, simulation, and PLM integration where applicable

The skills you bring
Must-have qualifications
  • Proven production experience operating and extending Kubernetes (deployments, operators, networking, RBAC, multi-cluster patterns)
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: system design, testing, CI/CD, and scalable architecture
  • Hands-on experience with containers, Docker, Helm, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
  • Practical experience building/operating CI/CD or GitOps pipelines (Argo CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Flux)
  • Observability experience (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger) and Linux troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge of information security, privacy and data protection: practical experience with secure coding, encryption/PKI and certificate management, threat modeling and vulnerability remediation
  • Experience implementing zero-trust principles; clear understanding of GDPR and privacy-by-design; and ability to collaborate with security, privacy and compliance teams to ensure secure, auditable deployments.
  • Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and familiarity with multi-cloud tradeoffs
  • Strong System Design: Architect scalable, fault-tolerant system designs for Ericsson's telecom platforms (e.g., 5G/core)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across product and platform teams, communicate clearly, and mentor others

Nice to have
  • Experience with TMF standards and OSS/BSS domains for telecommunications
  • Service mesh and advanced network policy experience (Istio/Linkerd)
  • Prior work on developer portals, self-service platforms, or internal developer tooling at scale

Other skills
AI & ML Platform capabilities (required or near-required)
  • Experience deploying or operating model serving/inference on Kubernetes (KServe, Seldon, BentoML, KFServing, custom)
  • Familiarity with ML orchestration and pipelines (Kubeflow, MLflow, Airflow) and model registries
  • Understanding of inference scaling, GPU scheduling, batching strategies, and latency/cost tradeoffs
  • Knowledge of model monitoring, data drift detection, and responsible AI practices (privacy, explainability)
  • Practical exposure to LLM integration, generative AI workflows, or developer AI assistants (e.g., Copilot, code generation tooling, prompt engineering) is strongly preferred

Learnable on the job
  • Deep product/domain knowledge in our OSS/BSS stack and telecom-specific protocols and standards
  • Proprietary platform tools and vendor-specific integrations unique to our environment
  • Extremely specialized SRE practices (chaos engineering at scale) or niche ML model optimization techniques

Behaviors we value
  • Ownership mindset with a bias for automation over manual work
  • Pragmatic, scalable problem solving with developer experience in mind
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring skills; ability to lead design discussions and influence across teams
  • Continuous learning orientation and commitment to reliability and security

What we offer
  • High-impact work across many product teams and services in a global organization
  • Opportunity to shape AI/ML platform capabilities and developer tooling
  • Competitive compensation, flexible/hybrid working policy, and professional growth support

To apply Please submit your resume and a brief note describing a platform or Kubernetes production problem you solved (your approach and outcome), and any relevant AI/ML platform work you contributed to.
