About the team and the role:

Are you a seasoned Art Director with a passion for crafting customer-focused, high-impact creative? The eBay Brand Creative team is looking for an Art Director to lead the creative direction for US CRM campaigns! In this role, you will oversee the design and execution of engaging email, push notification, SMS, and other customer communications, all tailored to the unique needs of the US market while aligning with eBay’s global brand standards.

As the lead Art Director for US CRM, you’ll be responsible for guiding our external agency in crafting visually compelling creative that engages customers, drives retention, and improves their overall experience with eBay. You will work closely with internal and external cross-functional teams including marketing, category BUs, and social strategists, to deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will also have the chance to create in-house creative work for CRM touchpoints as needed.

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead the creative direction for eBay’s US CRM campaigns, including emails, push notifications, SMS, and other customer communications, ensuring content resonates with US customers and drives engagement.

  • Occasionally concept, design, and implement creative for CRM channels, with a focus on customer retention, loyalty, and brand advocacy.

  • Ensure brand consistency by adapting eBay’s global brand guidelines to align with the specific tone, voice, and customer needs of the US market.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content, design, and copy, to create CRM campaigns that are both visually impactful and strategically aligned with eBay’s marketing goals.

  • Present feedback and pitch concepts to collaborators, including CRM, marketing, and other key teams, ensuring that your vision is communicated clearly and persuasively.

  • Optimize and iterate creative campaigns based on performance data, customer feedback, and market trends, continuously improving campaign outcomes.

  • Collaborate with external agencies to coordinate the implementation of CRM creative, ensuring alignment with eBay’s standards and US market requirements.

  • Collaborate with localization teams to ensure all content is culturally relevant and linguistically accurate for US customers.

  • Occasional travel may be required for team collaboration or photoshoots.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Art Director or Senior Designer, with a focus on CRM creative in the e-commerce or digital marketing space.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, or a related field.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing CRM campaigns, email design, and customer engagement work across multiple channels.

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); knowledge of After Effects or Cinema 4D is a plus.

  • Experience with CRM platforms and tools, and a deep understanding of how to tailor creative for emails, push notifications, and SMS.

  • Strong typography, composition, and visual storytelling skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to craft visually engaging and effective content.

  • Proven experience leading creative projects from concept to execution, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, copy, and product teams, maintaining strong creative direction and brand integrity.

  • A collaborative attitude, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback

Who You’ll Work With:

  • A dedicated team of designers, copywriters, motion designers, and creative directors.

  • Cross-functional partners in marketing, content, and product teams, collaborating to deliver customer-centric CRM campaigns.

  • A creative, fast-paced environment that values collaboration, innovation, and quality.
