aQuatonomous is a multidisciplinary student engineering design team at Queen’s University focused on building autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) for international competition. We compete annually at RoboBoat, designing and developing boats capable of fully autonomous operation in real-world environments.

While much of the team focuses on engineering and technical development, aQuatonomous also relies on strong operational leadership to keep the organization running smoothly. As we prepare for the 2026–2027 season, we are hiring leadership roles for the Business Team to support the continued growth and sustainability of the team.

📊 Business Team Overview

The Business team manages the behind-the-scenes work that keeps aQuatonomous moving. This includes sponsorships, outreach, media, branding, logistics, budgeting, communications, and internal support for the wider team.

Business plays a major role in shaping how aQuatonomous is seen on campus and beyond, while also ensuring the team’s operations stay organized, accessible, and sustainable.

The team structure consists of:

  • Business Director
  • Marketing Lead
  • Outreach Lead

🔷 Business Director (1 Position)

As Business Director, you will oversee the organizational and operational side of aQuatonomous while coordinating initiatives across marketing, sponsorship, and outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the business and operations side of the team
  • Manage sponsorship outreach and maintain relationships with partners
  • Coordinate with technical teams to support their operational needs
  • Support budgeting, financial tracking, and resource planning
  • Oversee branding, communications, and outreach initiatives
  • Help coordinate logistics for events, competitions, and team operations

📣 Marketing Lead (1 Position)

The Marketing Lead focuses on the public presence and branding of aQuatonomous.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team’s social media presence and content strategy
  • Create media content including posts, graphics, and updates
  • Help showcase team achievements, projects, and milestones
  • Support branding initiatives and promotional materials
  • Work with the team to highlight technical work and competition progress

🤝 Outreach Lead (1 Position)

The Outreach Lead focuses on community engagement and partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate outreach events and community engagement activities
  • Build relationships with organizations, schools, and external groups
  • Support sponsorship outreach and partnership opportunities
  • Help organize team events, demos, and recruitment efforts
  • Promote awareness of aQuatonomous and its mission
