THE POSITION

Overview

Boyd Interactive is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager with strong Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and regulatory compliance expertise to support and strengthen our compliance function across North American regulated markets.  This role reports to the Director of Compliance.

The successful candidate will provide subject-matter expertise on AML requirements, oversee the effectiveness of AML controls and processes, and work closely with Regulatory Compliance, Legal, Payments and Fraud, Risk, and other business functions to ensure regulatory obligations are understood and implemented.

This role requires deep knowledge of rules and regulations, strong operational oversight capabilities, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally while driving a culture of compliance throughout the business. The Compliance Manager will oversee AML compliance programs, regulatory reporting, audit and internal controls activities, and policy management to ensure all Boyd Interactive products, services, and operational practices meet applicable compliance standards and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject-matter expertise on AML/CFT requirements across applicable jurisdictions in Canada and the US
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business and AML framework.
  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of AML policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and submission of required regulatory reports SAR/STR across multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide oversight and guidance on KYC, customer due diligence, and enhanced due diligence requirements
  • Oversee fraud monitoring activities, suspicious activity investigations, reporting obligations, and related compliance analysis
  • Support ongoing audits and compliance reviews, including coordinating responses to audit requests, providing supporting documentation and evidence, addressing findings, and tracking remediation activities through to completion
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the business and various State, Provincial, and Federal regulators
  • Develop and oversee compliance training initiatives and awareness programs for employees across the organization
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, participate in strategic and operational leadership discussions, and lead the SAR/STR committee
  • Stay informed of evolving regulatory requirements and emerging compliance trends across North American gaming jurisdictions

 

THE CANDIDATE

Education & Certification/License Credentials

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • CAMS or equivalent AML certification considered an asset
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations or audits
  • Experience across multiple North American jurisdictions

Functional Competencies – Skills, Knowledge, & Experience

  • 5+ years of casino and/or online gaming industry experience within regulated environments
  • Proven leadership experience within a compliance function in the gaming, financial services, or similarly regulated industry
  • Experience managing or leading internal and external audits and regulatory examinations
  • Strong understanding of AML, Responsible Gaming, regulatory compliance frameworks, and risk management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into operational requirements and business processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving regulatory environment
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience interacting directly with gaming regulators and licensing bodies preferred
  • Willing and able to obtain gaming licenses in all required jurisdictions, including completion of all background investigations and regulatory filings
  • Experience filing reports with FINCEN, FINTRAC, and similar regulatory agencies is preferred
  • Legal, regulatory, or licensing operations experience within the gaming industry is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
