Zafin is an AI platform company helping regulated institutions modernize how critical work is designed, governed, and delivered. Our technology enables organizations to move faster while maintaining the governance, accountability, and control required in highly regulated environments.

Our portfolio includes Zafin AIOS, an agent orchestration platform for governed AI work; the Zafin Banking Platform, which helps banks modernize product, pricing, offers, billing, loyalty, and relationship management; and Zafin IO, an integration platform that connects data, systems, and workflows across complex enterprise environments.

Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Zafin partners with leading financial institutions across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. As AI transforms the future of financial services, we're building the platforms that help regulated organizations adopt AI responsibly and at scale.

What is the Opportunity?

The AI Mobile Engineer- Android is a senior technical implementation role responsible for leading the design and delivery of production-grade agent solutions. Your primary goal is to translate architecture designs into robust, reliable, maintainable implementations while setting engineering standards and providing technical leadership to less experienced engineers on the squad.

You are responsible for leading technical implementation of agent solutions; overseeing agent development, integrations, and workflow design from design through production; and providing technical mentorship and leadership to help Agent Engineers grow their capabilities. You serve as the technical anchor of the squad—hands-on enough to solve complex implementation problems, but senior enough to establish the standards others follow.

As a senior engineer, you will work closely with the Agent Architect II to translate designs into code; mentor and support Agent Engineers on implementation approaches and technical decisions; partner with domain strategists and other squad members to ensure implementation aligns with business requirements and architectural principles; and drive continuous improvement of engineering practices and code quality.

What Will YouDo?

  • Lead technical implementation of agent solutions; translate architecture designs into production-grade, scalable implementations
  • Oversee agent development, integrations, workflow orchestration, and deployment through production
  • Design and implement agent workflows, integrations with external systems and APIs, and human-in-the-loop controls
  • Set engineering standards and best practices for the squad; establish code quality expectations and review standards
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Agent Engineers; help them grow their skills and capabilities
  • Unblock complex implementation challenges; troubleshoot difficult technical problems and guide others through resolution
  • Own implementation quality; drive testing, reliability engineering, and defect prevention practices
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation for agent solutions
  • Participate in architecture reviews with Agent Architect II; provide implementation feedback on design decisions
  • Work closely with Domain Strategist and Engagement Manager to ensure implementation aligns with business logic and client requirements
  • Define monitoring, logging, and observability for agent systems in production
  • Participate in code reviews and design reviews; establish and maintain high technical standards
  • Identify and implement improvements to engineering practices, tools, and processes
  • Stay current on agent development frameworks, best practices, and emerging agentic AI technologies
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation; help build organizational capabilities in agent engineering

What Do You Need to Succeed?

  • 5+ years building native Android apps with Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose
  • Shipped secure applications in financial services or regulated industries (authentication, authorization, sensitive user actions)
  • Experienced integrating Android apps with backend services, APIs, SDKs, and real-time communication
  • Experience embedding AI/chat capabilities into mobile apps
  • Cross-functional ownership across mobile and backend with strong engineering practices (automated testing, code review, CI/CD, monitoring, Play deployment)
