Main Responsibilities
Define the technical roadmap for agentic AI initiatives, aligning with Sanofi's digital transformation and patient-centric goals
Guide a multidisciplinary team of AI/ML scientists and engineers in developing state-of-the-art agentic AI systems for pharmaceutical applications
Architect sophisticated multi-agent systems for drug discovery, clinical research, and healthcare optimization
Drive development of AI agents that can accelerate research timelines, improve patient outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency
Ensure all AI systems meet pharmaceutical industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Sanofi's quality commitments
Partner with R&D to identify high-impact use cases
Champion AI safety, ethics, and responsible innovation practices across all healthcare applications
Mentor team members and foster a culture of scientific curiosity and continuous learning
Represent Sanofi in the AI research community through publications, partnerships, and industry collaborations
About You
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Biology, or related field
3+ years building production AI/ML systems, with 1+ years in technical leadership roles
Proven track record of publications in top-tier AI/ML or healthcare informatics conferences
Proven track record of managing and inspiring high-performing AI/ML teams
Deep knowledge of large language models, transformers, and modern deep learning architectures
Expert-level Python skills with experience in AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, experiment tracking (MLflow, Weights & Biases)
Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar) and novel agentic AI architectures (perception module, memory system, planning engine, execution layer with tool use, reasoning module, in-the-flow agentic system optimization)
Strong foundation in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and MLOps
Exceptional ability to navigate complex, ambiguous challenges in healthcare contexts
Excellent skills in explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders across the organization
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with systems integrating clinical data, imaging, genomics, and real-world evidence
Contributions to open-source projects or collaborative research initiatives
