As an AI-Enabled Software Test Engineer, you are passionate about test engineering and enthusiastic about leveraging Generative AI tools in day-to-day test activities. Highly motivated and eager to apply cutting-edge AI-driven methodologies, you are ready to excel in a junior Test Engineer position.
- Design and develop comprehensive test plans utilizing Agentic AI and Generative AI tools to thoroughly evaluate Navigator Intelligent Applications software. Employ TestRail for test planning and Agile JIRA for issue tracking and resolution.
- Automate test case creation, execution, and validation using Generative AI-driven frameworks such as Post-bot, GitHub Co-pilot. Develop API automation workflows with Postman and UI automation tests using Playwright.
- Manage code repositories in bitbucket and oversee test suite execution on the TeamCity CI platform. Utilize Agentic AI agents to analyze test results efficiently and propose rapid resolutions.
- Investigate software defects to identify and escalate critical issues with potential customer impact. Collaborate with software development engineers to address problems related to specifications, test plans, or procedures.
- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams throughout the release cycle to ensure comprehensive test coverage and adherence to functional specifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Gen-AI tools specifically designed for software testing and quality assurance.
- Ability to interpret AI-generated insights and translate them into actionable testing strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and integration of AI tools into test environments.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new complex technological concepts and effectively apply knowledge in daily activities.
Preferred qualifications:
- Co-Op or prior experience in Test Engineering/QA automation role is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI frameworks like GitHub Co-pilot, Post-bot, or similar tools for test case generation and validation.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or other agentic AI ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with Google ADK (or equivalent AI development kits).
- Certification in Generative AI (e.g., OpenAI, Google AI, or specialized Gen-AI certifications) demonstrating advanced knowledge of AI-driven technologies.
Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this role is $62,100- 99,300
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
