As an Advanced Software Engineer – Display Services here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will work in a fast-paced and exciting development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries and ensure compliance with certification requirements.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will work the first 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid (3/2) schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for development, systems integration, and verification of core Display applications to be hosted on the Next Generation Avionics Platform
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Testing and Integration on test benches in labs.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development.

Travel, up to 15%, may be expected - within US and/or internationally

QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline Software Engineering degree or related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong C++ or Object-oriented programming skills.
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Strong software architecture and design development skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
WE VALUE:
  • Advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields.
  • SW architecture design and embedded C++ coding 
  • Experience in developing software for embedded systems.
  • Multi-core / multi-thread development experience.
  • Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C.
  • Experience with Software Verification and Validation using C++.
  • Strong analytical and software development skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS NG, and Confluence
