Hours: 15 hours per week
Shifts: Part-time shifts
Status: Temporary Part-time

Position Summary:
The Sexual Health Clinic team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Administrative Assistant I to support daily clinic operations and enhance the patient experience. This role is responsible for front-desk reception, appointment coordination, scheduling, and administrative support within a compassionate, professional healthcare environment.

The Administrative Assistant I will serve as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and the multidisciplinary care team, ensuring smooth clinic flow and efficient coordination of services. Working closely with physicians, nurses, sexual health counsellors, and leadership, the successful candidate will support both in-person and virtual clinic activities, maintain confidential patient records, assist with clinic communications, and contribute to the overall delivery of high-quality survivorship care.

Duties:

  • Performs reception responsibilities
  • Scheduling patients for appointments
  • Maintains written and/or electronic calendar/schedules
  • Provides support with small and/or informal meetings/events
  • Maintains and modifying confidential medical electronic/paper filing/retrieval methods, systems, and/or formats
  • Ensures the efficient operation of the clinic

Qualifications

 

  • Completion of Secondary School or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary office/medical administration program at the certificate level or equivalent
  • One (1) year related medical administrative support experience
  • Experience working with EPIC EMR for managing referrals, appointment scheduling, and standard clinical operations is preferred
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience, in a Microsoft Office Environment
  • Very good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Experience working in a health care environment is an asset
  • Able to operate effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with UHN standards
