ROLE OVERVIEW

The Activation Specialist will work across an exciting mix of US clients across different industries providing day to day support to the wider media team, with a focus on activation and optimization of digital channels. You will need to be highly proficient in media implementation, digital media landscape, and performance marketing. This includes a strong understanding of Social Media platforms, Programmatic channels, Google Analytics and vendor management. You will need to develop strong trust-based relationships with both the client and agency team members. You will need curiosity and common sense to keep up to date on platform and partner capabilities to identify opportunities for all clients and the team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute hands-on, campaign management for self-service media.  
  • Implement campaign setup including audience, campaign and ad group creation.  
  • Act as a self-serve SME to clients, translating media performance into actionable business insights that align with client goals. 
  • Contribute to client presentations and performance reviews, providing insights on media mix effectiveness and campaign optimizations. 
  • Work directly with the team to assist with overall client planning & day to day client requests
  • Work directly with all media partners to book, implement and report on campaigns
  • With direction from the team to support the preparation, writing and presentation of integrated media plans, proposals and analysis that satisfy client objectives and that go beyond the brief.
  • Maintain stewardship and accountability of the media plan, regularly evaluating and monitoring execution to implement meaningful optimizations
  • Liaise and foster knowledge-sharing with other disciplines internally, partner agencies and other departments to ensure that media and client knowledge is current.
  • Awareness of client KPIs and objectives, ensuring that tracking is in place for check-ins as required.
  • Accurately and effectively manage client’s day-to-day planning requirements, with a strong understanding of client’s business objectives and KPIs.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments at SALT, ensuring digital media requirements are understood and help the teams to provide the assets as needed.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Minimum 2 years working at a media agency, in a digital focused role
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communication or Advertising required
  • Prior hands-on experience in Paid Social business manager accounts & Programmatic DSPs is essential
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Prior hands on experience with Google Data Studio an asset but not required
  • Hands on management - planning, implementing, optimizing & reporting for Fortune 100 brands
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Knowledge in all facets of the digital marketing space: CRM, SEO, SEM, programmatic, social, mobile, video
  • Strong understanding of optimization strategies, audience segmentation, and KPIs. 
  • Strong ability to translate data insights into strategic recommendations for optimizations and media mix improvements. 
  • Experience with google tag manager is an asset
  • Any retail media experience is a plus

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $60,000–$75,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of SALT’s total rewards program.
