Are you ready to take the next big step in your career? Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is currently looking for a talented and dynamic full-time Accounting Manager who shares our passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do! 

 

This is an on-site positionlocated at 60 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto.  

 

About the role: 

The Accounting Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and is responsible for overseeing accounting operations for the hotel and private residences. This Assistant Department Head-level position supports the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and overall financial integrity. 

  

The role oversees key Finance functions, including shared services, payroll, accounts payable, income audit, and support for accounts receivable and general cashiering, ensuring compliance with all local and corporate policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager also plays an important role in developing Finance team members and supporting departmental success. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Prepare and review daily cashier reconciliation including Credit Card reconciliation. 
  • Oversee Accounts Payable function and supervise team. 
  • Communicate billing discrepancies, payment issues, or other concerns to the Assistant Director of Finance. 
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders, receiving documentation, and management approvals. 
  • Investigate and report invoice discrepancies as required. 
  • Run required month-end reports and support Accounts Payable closing activities. 
  • Maintain and update the approved vendor listing. 
  • Ensure that monthly accruals for goods/services received but not invoiced are prepared and recorded accordingly 
  • Contribute to the monthly financial reporting by preparing accruals and journal entries in the Accounting System during month-end and year-end closing, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles 
  • Provide support and documentation for internal and external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required financial information and compliance with audit requirements 
  • Review and reconcile intercompany balances between ownership company, ensuring accuracy of financial records and timely resolution of outstanding items. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance. 

 

What you will bring: 

  • Minimum three years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within a hotel environment. 
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field considered an asset. 
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), and accounting operations. 
  • Previous leadership experience in a Finance or Accounting role, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across departments. 
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability, with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language, including the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations, and facilitate discussions. 
  • Experience with OPERA PMS, BirchStreet Systems, SUN Accounting System, OneStream, RevPlan, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000.     

  

Schedule & Hours:   

This position requires an applicant with an open schedule and based on-site at 60 Yorkville Avenue, Toronto. While majority of shifts take place Mondays to Fridays, occasional weekend shifts are required based on business needs.
