Job Summary:

  • PetPlace is seeking a hybrid Accounting Assistant who will provide a broad range of support to different groups including, but not limited to sales, billing, and/or accounting functions. Ultimately, this role will help our Accounting & Finance department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

Job Location: Hybrid in Oakville, ON (3 days a week onsite/2 remote)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Creates invoices in general ledger (GL) and verifies GL codes used.
  • Tracks receivable and/or payable activities.
  • Assists in preparation of financial packages.
  • Resolves and tracks financial queries regarding customer accounts.
  • Collects payments for revenue streams.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • May be responsible for booking receivables and/or payables and maintain checklists.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Processes day-to-day transactions and related reconciliations.
  • Assists with billing inquiries and related changes.
  • Processes stop payments.
  • Responsible for claims related processes that reside in accounting.
  • Proficient in Excel, with a focus on pivot tables and managing complex spreadsheets.
