We are looking for an organized and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Accounting Analyst for our Brampton, ON office.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering, organizing, and analyzing data, and finding areas of opportunity and supporting business decisions.
- Use statistical and analytical techniques to analyze AP, AR, and accounting data. This includes identifying trends, patterns, outliers, and anomalies.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings, trends, and insights derived from data analysis. Present these reports to stakeholders such as finance teams, management, and other relevant parties.
- Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
- Prepare recommendations for efficiency and improvements to existing processes.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different systems and sources.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the AP, AR, and accounting functions based on data analysis results.
- Interpret business requirements and perform analysis to support strategic and tactical objectives.
- Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases.
- Manage and maintain records of business terms of each customer. Ensure customer profile on system is up to date and accurate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, gather feedback, and implement data-driven solutions.
- Build strong and influential internal relationships to help ensure business objectives are being met.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is often required
- 2+ years of experience in technology, data analytics or related field.
- Experience in the Logistics / Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset.
- Professional experience with reporting packages (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), databases and general programming languages Professional experience in data mining, cleaning, and segmentation is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction.
- Strong attention to details and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with payment applications.
- Experience in Accounting/finance field is an asset.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns, trends and discrepancies.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
