We are seeking an Account Executive to join our growing Reputation practice in Canada. This role is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career communications professional to build strong fundamentals in reputation and advisory communications while gaining exposure to a wide range of clients, sectors, and integrated teams.

Edelman’s Reputation practice advises organizations on how they build, protect, and sustain trust across moments of opportunity, change, and risk. We partner with senior leaders to navigate complex issues, shape enterprise narratives, and strengthen executive credibility in fast‑moving environments.

Our work spans corporate reputation, earned media, executive positioning, stakeholder engagement, issues preparedness, and crisis communications, delivered in close collaboration with colleagues across Edelman’s practices and sectors.

What You’ll Do

As an Account Executive you’ll support reputation‑led client work and collaborate closely with senior team members to deliver high‑quality, thoughtful communications programs. Your work will span execution, research, coordination, and learning across a variety of accounts and integrated teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Support day‑to‑day client delivery by attending meetings, drafting recaps, managing timelines, and helping teams meet deadlines in fast‑moving environments

  • Write, edit, and proofread communications materials — including briefing documents, content drafts, and presentations — ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency

  • Assist with earned media activities, including building and maintaining media lists, supporting outreach, and contributing to story development

  • Conduct media monitoring, reporting, and analysis to help teams track coverage, identify trends, and surface insights

  • Support executive positioning and thought leadership initiatives through research, content development, and briefing support

  • Assist with creator vetting and brand safety support, including background research and risk considerations, in collaboration with senior colleagues

  • Produce industry, stakeholder, and issue‑based research to inform client strategy and recommendations

  • Collaborate with colleagues across practices and sectors, gaining broad exposure to different types of work and clients

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (public relations, corporate communications, advertising, journalism, business) or equivalent work experience

  • Preferably, At least one year of relevant experience in public relations or relevant industry experience

  • Strong research, writing, editing and client interaction skills

  • Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, perform well under pressure, and be a team player.

  • Be a self-starter, energized by problem-solving, excel in a collaborative environment, and proactively offer suggestions to build, shape, and improve processes

  • Proficiency in French is an asset; however, it is not a requirement for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

  • Openness to working across a variety of client sectors, including non-profit, energy, infrastructure, financial services, professional services, CPG, and technology.

  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills, with close attention to detail

  • Solid grasp of basic public relations and social media tools and how they are used

  • Hands‑on experience in content and message development and thought leadership

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to contribute ideas, think on the spot, and actively participate in group discussions

  • Results‑ and solutions‑oriented mindset, with curiosity and a willingness to learn

  • Keen interest in current events and a strong understanding of today’s news and media landscape

Why Join Us

You’ll be part of a collaborative, high‑performing team that values thoughtful work, mentorship, and professional growth. Through exposure to reputation‑led mandates and opportunities to work across practices, you’ll gain the experience and perspective needed to build a meaningful and sustainable career at Edelman.
