The Intern will support the tax department in the preparation of Canadian direct and indirect tax filings as well as reconciliation analysis and audit working papers. The incumbent will also assist with corporate income tax provisioning / forecast, Sales Tax process, ERP testing and other duties assigned including ad hoc projects, analyzing tax assessments and updating tax payment calculations, etc.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Tax Manager in the preparation of various supporting documentation related to the Canadian Direct and Indirect compliance.

  • Assist in tax data gathering and validation, prepare working papers for corporate income tax compliance process as well as liaise with other cross function teams to follow up on missing information.

  • Assist with sales tax process and support AR team to resolve billing issues.

  • Assist with sales tax filings and remittance in a timely and accurate manner for all jurisdictions as well as work on review process with external consultants.

  • Prepare current and deferred tax provision calculations for financial reporting.

  • Support the tax team on compliance testing as part of ERP Transformations.

  • Assist in tax research on direct, indirect, global mobility tax issues and keep up-to-date on changes in legislation that impact the organization.

  • Participate in ad hoc projects as required.

What you'll need

  • Be in pursuit of a relevant college or university degree with the graduation date of December 2026 or April 2027

  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Strong communication skills

  • Self-starter with excellent initiative and attention to detail

  • Ability to organize work and establish priorities to meet guidelines and deadlines

  • Capacity to work well under pressure

  • Aptitude to work as part of a team as well as independently

  • Applies critical thinking

  • Computer literacy including Advanced Excel skills and an aptitude for learning new applications.

  • Any tax experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset

The 2025 Summer Intern Program will run from May 2026- August 2026.

Pay range: $ 23- $ 25/ hour, depending on experience and skill set

Salaries are based on a 40-hour workweek, and paid on a bi-weekly payroll schedule.
