Lead machine learning infrastructure research for photonics-enabled AI systems. Build performance models for training and inference workloads, design rack-scale reference platforms, publish research and technical content, advise cross-functional teams, and lead a small team of machine learning engineers. The role requires deep expertise in AI systems, compute and networking technologies, performance evaluation, large language models, and academic research.

Develop and maintain photonics Process Design Kits, including Python-based layout libraries, compact behavioral models, test structures, and automated verification pipelines. Validate models against silicon measurements through data fitting and statistical analysis. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support large-scale photonic integrated circuit tape-outs. The role requires advanced photonic device physics, circuit simulation, Python programming, layout automation, and experience with foundry PDKs and design verification.

Design and own firmware test automation frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure, CI/CD integration, diagnostics, telemetry, and test reporting for photonic hardware. Debug failures across firmware, boards, instruments, fixtures, and test code. Define test strategies, improve framework reliability, support embedded systems interfaces, participate in design reviews, document architecture, and mentor engineers.

Responsible for timing constraints development, STA and timing closure on CMOS technologies, driving timing sign-off, analyzing power/performance tradeoffs, and running full-chip STA.

Lead implementation of complex digital blocks from synthesis through physical verification on advanced nodes (3nm). Drive timing closure, power and EM/IR analysis, full-chip floorplanning, IO and clock distribution, DRC/LVS cleanup, ECOs, and collaborate with EDA vendors. Automate and customize flows using Tcl/Python/Shell; support tape-out and photonics integration.

The Design Verification Engineer will rigorously verify designs using UVM techniques, collaborating closely with digital and analog design experts, while defining DV methodologies and ensuring quality tapeouts.

The role involves architecting digital circuits for mixed-signal and photonic systems, collaborating with teams to design and validate high-speed architectures, and ensuring product readiness for market.

Develop high-speed analog transceiver solutions, design analog/mixed-signal blocks, collaborate across teams, and validate circuit performance in the lab.

The Photonics Technical Lead develops scalable laser solutions for silicon photonics, collaborating with cross-functional teams and overseeing product design and validation.

Define and specify system-level digital architectures for high-speed mixed-signal photonic communication chips. Collaborate with digital, analog, photonic, firmware, and test teams to enable RTL/DV implementation, validate hardware against simulations, and author architectural specifications from concept to production.

Define and document analog/mixed-signal architecture for high-speed (50G+) optical transceivers and photonic interconnects. Propose AMS circuit blocks, estimate performance/power/area, collaborate with analog, digital, photonics and software teams, validate specifications, and represent technical leadership externally.
